I love outdoor sports, but i understand that UV will cause aging therefore I have looked for a good outdoor body sunscreen for a long time.
In the previous years, most of my sunscreen are bought in supermarket - the chemical sunscreen with SPF 30 to 50. None of them I like and those sunscreens made my arm / leg very rough. I have tried couple physical screen since last year summer, with high % of non-microized zinc oxide: Soleo and Badger sunscreen. Both of them have good rating; however i found they are too thick and sticky (although, i don't find they cause any "white-coating" after application).

and today I have tried the Eminence Vanilla Body sunscreen (they have only 5% of zinc oxide) vs. soleo / Badgen have 20% of zinc oxide. I love it very much because
- it has a very good smell, (very fresh, vanill smell. I almost want to get a taste of it =) )
- not oily / sticky at all, just like moisturizer instead.

However, I don't know if 5% of zinc oxide is enough when doing outdoor activities all day long.

does anyone have any suggestion?

Cliniderm protective lotion is great. I couldn't use it for my skin cause I found that it clogs my pores, so I'm using it on my body now and it's perfect forthat

Devita Body Block is nice. Not at all greasy, very little smell. 19% zinc.

http://www.vitacost.com/Devita-Solar-Body-Block-30-with-Shea-Block

Only downside is that it's not water-resistant.

I don't think 5% zinc is enough, but not sure if there are other ingredients in the Eminence sunscreen that bump up the protection.

If you want something more water resistant for sports/sweating/swimming, try Burnout's Ocean Tested. 18.6% zinc.

http://burnoutsun.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=BS&Product_Code=3000&Category_Code=spf_32_sunscreen

You still should reapply every two hours.

I used this (on my two kids as well) during a sun and water vacation a few weeks ago. Worked well, as long as it was applied correctly (one kid missed a few spots and paid for it later!).

It's creamy, but not excessively white like some zinc sunscreens. It seems to me more like a body lotion than a sunscreen.

It soaks in pretty quickly (my skin is normal/very slightly dry) and spreads easily.

iherb.com sells Devita as well and they ship internationally. However, it looks like they are presently out of stock. You might check back with them and see if they get it back in stock soon.

Queenie,

Have you try Devita, Eminence or Devita is better?
