Hello!
I see that SkinCeuticals now has a Retinol 1.0% solution. I read that it is the highest level available without a prescription. I was wondering if anyone has used this? Can Retinol be used around the eye area for crows feet, etc? |

i think it's brand new. skin-etc.com has samples of it free if you purchase something from them. |

skinceutical's retinol formula has lots of 'cones. So if you are sensitive to 'cones, I would avoid it. And yes, you can definitely use retinol around your eyes. Definitely start slow and buffer with either oil or apply a moisturizing eye cream over the retinol. Your eyes may go through a wrinkly/crepy stage before looking better.
HTH! |

cones? do you mean silicone?
There's also 0.5 formula designed for people new to retinols or with sensitive skin |

I have fair sensitive skin. Maybe I will start off with the 0.5 formula instead. Thanks for the info! |

that's what I'd do for sensitive skin. Let me know how it works for you, I'm interested in that product too! |

I was wondering if anyone was using this product. I got a sample and tried it last night.
I was looking at the greencream website and they say when the retinols are exposed to air they break down. The sample I got comes in a tube, does that mean it will expire quickly?
I've never used retinols before but am very interested for my fine lines and acne. |

Hi Lianne,
I have been using the SkinCeuticals Retinol 0.5% Solution for a little over a week now (every other night). No iritation. It comes in a small aresol-style can with a pump top. Skin doesn't seem to be peeling or anything as of yet. I will eventually start using it every night, but to start they say to use every other night. Also, have been using the M.D. Forte Eye Cream with the Power of Retinol on my undereye area and crows feet every other night also, so far no problem with irritation. I will report back when I start seeing improvement, if any, with my fine lines. |

cool. I used the sample a couple nights ago and now I've got a bunch of zits coming out.
I heard retinols make your skin purge..but only after 1 use? I'll probably try it every few nights and see what happens...could be hormonal right now.
What size is the can?? I've seen cheaper ones out there but they're in tubes. The green cream stuff looks like a hassle to get into canada...and it's about the same price. |

Hi Lianne,
The container is 1 oz. (30 ml) and you are supposed to use a "pea size" portion of the solution on your face. A little goes a long way. |

thanks misty! I tried it again last night and woke up a bit pink....maybe every 3 or 4th day is best for me to start. I think I've only got 1 more use out of my sample |
