I have been using Obagi for 4 weeks and am breaking out on my chin. I am going on vacation in 1 week and wanted to know if I can use some kind of spot treatment to get rid of them faster. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks |

I think a spot treatment would be fine. |

Yup spot treat would be your best option. I wouldn't apply what you don't need to the rest of your face and risk irritation, so get some benzoyl peroxide and treat those spots. |

I'm not too familiar with Obagi products, but I don't know of any reactions that benzoyl peroxide has with other ingredients other than hydroquinone. As long as your Obagi products don't have HQ, then you should be fine with putting it on wherever. But personally, I would put BP on last so you don't end up spreading it to other parts of your face when you are applying your other products. Although if you do that, your BP might not absorb as well since you have so many layers on. If it's possible, you should just cut back on some of your other things until your chin clears up. And BP causes free radical formation so it might decrease the efficacy of any antioxidants in your routine, but probably not by much. |

Obagi does have HQ in it. Now I am not sure what to do. Any other suggestions.
Thanks for the replies! |

Hmm well it depends on what you want more... a clear chin or to stick with your Obagi routine lol
The reaction between BP and HQ isn't too major, it just causes a slight temporary staining that can be washed off by using soap and water. If you don't mind that, then by all means but I don't know if there's side effects associated with not washing it off immediately.
Another option is to spot treat the spots with a BHA product. |

I guess I would rather have no pimples during my vacation. Anyone who has been on Obagi tried anything?
Thanks |

maybe try something that is sulphur based like Bare Minerals Blemish treatment or others, like the liquid that you dip a q-tip in but do not shake, I can't think of the brand names right now. |
