A month ago I got Restylane to fill the tear troughs under my eyes, and I was immediately blown away by the amazing results. However, now that a month has passed, it appears that the results are starting to wear off (the hollow look is still gone, but the darkness is starting to emerge and so is the tear trough). I know I have a high metabolism for fillers, but I was told it would last much longer. What can I do to compensate? |

Maybe you should contact the doctor that did it for you. I am sure he or she can tell you. You never know you might get a free touch-up ?
I know mine did with botox the first time since she did not injected enough to get me the result she told me I would. |

It generally does last longer in that area because there is less movement. If the hallow look is still gone then I think its still there doing its job. Filler only helps with dark circle if they are cause by tear through. You can still have dark circles and not have TT.
Maybe give juvederm a try next time. |

If it was your first time, this is expected. In the eye area, they tend to underfill - but the bonus is that since this is the eye area, after your second treatment - you may not need further treatments.
I got my first tear trough filler over 3 years ago. I had two small "top ups" since and that's it and it looks as good as the first day.
Also note that the skin in that area is very thin - so there is still a tendency to see a darkish cast - but don't worry, with a "full" tear trough it is very easy to mask with concealer - unlike a hollow tear trough where you need spackle and the shadows still fill up there.
good luck, bfg |

Thanks! How long was it since your last touch up? |

How deeply did they put the filler? I was told it could only be done deeply because otherwise you see the filler because the skin is so thin. The "deep" part makes me nervous because that area isn't that thick to begin with if you pinch it. Can the same type of filler be used in the nasolabial folds, lips and marionette lines? I seldom use up one vial of filler in only one spot so need to have other places to put it to get more bang for the buck.
I was thinking about getting fat injections for troughs and at the same time have fat put along the back jaw to widen my face, but I've had that done before (not around eyes) and it seems harder to control the fat, plus they overfill so perhaps it wouldn't work in the eye area. |

I was going to get my nasolabial folds done too because I thought it wouldn't take up a whole vial, but it did:( |

I had this same experience with Restylane in my nasolabial folds. It faded within a month. I think it's because it is the smallest particle HA filler so the body metabolizes it much more quickly. I would try Perlane next time. This lasted nearly a year for me in my TTs. |

I had the opposite reaction with Restylane in my NL lines. Mine lasted nearly two years. |

What kind of filler did you have? I've never heard of resty or juvey in the tear troughs! Really??? |

Hey......
The Restylane lasts generally for 6 months, but if it's not showing up, then you should definitely consult your doctor. Sometimes, it may be the case that you may get a good result after the second treatment. |
