I am having trouble lately with removing mascara build up from my lashes. My old stand bys aren't working - perhaps the mascara formulas have changed (and I am not using water proof).

I use DHC cleansing oil for my face and it works well - but doesn't tackle the lashes all that well....

Would castor oil be a better option for the lashes? Ideas?

Thanks, bfg

Pure castor oil can be a bit drying to both the skin and hair. You can mix it with jojoba oil to make it more moisturizing or even just pure jojoba oil. YOu can use EVOO as well and many other carrier oils too. It just depends on your preference and how your skin/lashes tolerate them, but pure castor oil can be a bit drying.

I usually use Vaseline to remove mascara when I wear it.

Funny enough, I've never experienced castor oil to be drying on my eyes! Its actually the best moisturizer I've EVER used on my undereyes, plus it does AMAZING things for my lashes.

This is strange though, since I agree that I have to be careful with the amt of CO I add to OCM because it really can dry out my oily skin in a pretty ugly/scaley way.

I know many have had the same experiences in both cases. Does anyone know the reason for the two opposite reactions?

(That said, not sure if it'd be ideal as an eye makeup remover. I'd prefer something lighter.)
