Hello everyone! I hope I've posted this in the right place
I have been reading the various discussions on dermarolling and have noticed that Vitamin A features quite heavily. I have suffered from very bad acne prone skin for the past 10-12 years (I'm 27) and for the first time in a long time I'm now spot free. However I'm left with a lot of red marks and various little scars which I'm hoping to eventually start treating with dermarolling once I've done enough research. In the meantime, I have a product that I was given a while back as a freebie which I understand might be a good thing to start work on my red marks. The product is called Acid A Vit and it's a 0.05%. I have no instructions for it so I was hoping that some of the wise women here could shed some light on how I should go about using it and what it could do for me please?
Also, is it something I can use in conjunction with dermarolling? Or should I use something else? Lastly, is this stuff likely to make me breakout?
Thanks in advance! |

If the ingredients say it contains tretinoin and not retinol, then it is probably just a brand of Retin-A. I'm not from the UK, so I can't say for sure whether that's a typical tretinoin brand or not. You might also want to check for an expiry date too since you got it a while back.
Here's how you should be using retinoids:

I wouldn't use this with dermarolling - or at least immediately after - because tretinoin can be very irritating to some people as well. Causes skin to flake like crazy and some people even break out from it before they get better. Most people like to use a type of serum for dermarolling like Vit C serums or some specialty healing product like la roche posay cicaplast. There is a dermarolling topic in the DIY section, so you might want to check that for more detailed discussions. |
