I'm 27 with fair/olive skin tone and overall good skin on my face. I have a few tiny brown spots I would like to get rid of. I want to get tarted on a retinol cream. Would Green Cream be a good place to start? I also looked at a moisturizer by ROC (called something like 4 way cream or something).. Does anyone have any opinions on either of these?
With the Green Cream, do you use it a a moisturizer during the day time under makeup or is it more like just a treatment for nighttime use?
Thanks in advance. |

Hi, I think a more effective OTC retinoid than the ones you mention would be an Avene product such as Eluage. IDK specifically about Green Cream, but in general retinoids are used as a night time only treatment due to the fact that (at least while your skin is getting used to them)you have increased photo-sensitivity and could increase the chances of further sun damage rather than repairing it. |

You will get increased photo-sensitivity the moment you start using retinols, not only if you use it during the day. In fact, it's not recommended to use retinols in the day because they are degraded by the sunlight so you should only use them at night. Green cream is a good choice, but make sure you start at the lowest strength or else you will find it way to irritating. |

With all retinol products there is always going to be a problem with photo sensetivity as you are affectively thinning the skin out. Make sure to apply a good hydrating serum fifteen minutes before applying the retinol based product as it will help keep the skin from getting overly dry. |
