I am interested in starting the Obagi program (I had a consultation and the dr said I did not need an agressive approach so I should not experience severe peeling/redness.)
My question is this: I have a big birthday party to go to in 2 weeks. The dr said I should be fine and just stop using the Retin A 2-3 days before the party but is that risky? Should I just wait to start until after? |

Yeek! I would definitely wait til after the party to start obagi. I was on the normal routine (not aggressive) and was a peeling mess for months. |

why does obagi make your skin a mess for so long before getting better? I hear stuff about this line, but really know nothing about it other than it makes you peel like crazy |

I am an Obagi user and have found it to be the only skincare routine that has actually made a difference. My skin honestly looks better now at 38 then it did in my twenties.
I think the reason you look worse before looking better is that it peels all the old damaged skin. You end up look flaky, dry and some people experience a lot of redness.
It has been a year this month since I started using Obagi and now I rarely get dry and flaky.
Good Luck if you do decide to go with it and feel free to pm me if I can help.

How long after you start using Obagi do you start seeing the redness and peeling? |
