Hi. I'm a 20 year old male and am struggling with redness on my face from acne. It is very embarressing and I would do anything for it to go away. At this point I can deal with a few bumps, its the redness I would like to go away. It sometimes fades away for about a week, and then always comes right back. If anybody could suggest something to help me make it dissappear for good it would be greatly appriciated. Thank you so much |

I didn't know that BHA can help with redness. oasisjc, do you have more info about that?
I have just ordered a sample of Paula's Skin Relief Treatment to see if it can really help with redness. |

I don't, I just saw it on Paula's description of her BHA. |

I forgot to mention that you shouldn't use any of the products I mentioned if you're allergic to aspirin |

Hello!
I have had a similar issue ever since I can remember. What has helped me is applying topical witch hazel at least once a day. This relieves inflammation and is very soothing. It is very inexpensive! For me, it also relieves my mild adult acne.
The second product that I would recommend is the LightStim infared device. It is expensive, but it definitely relieves my face of redness. There are 3 types: anti-aging, anti-rosacea, and anti-acne. I am not sure which one would be best for you!
Hope that helps you!

I wonder if you don't have rosacea. Do you get dilated blood vessels as well? if so, perhaps see a doctor, as there are metronidazole creams that help the skin with both inflammation and new pimples. |

It sounds like you've got a lot of inflammation, so I would recommend cutting sugars and dairy from your diet (they both cause inflammation), and adding some supplements like zinc and codliver oil which have various anti-acne benefits. Also, I don't know if this is relevant, but picking increases inflammation and spreads the bacteria.
Of course, it's also great to see a dermatologist, because they have a whole bag of tricks to help.
Oh, and you're protecting from the sun somehow, right? Because harsh UV rays can make inflammation worse. |

Hi, I also suffered from the redness and all I can say is Proactiv worked wonders for me. You can get a trial for 30 days for $20.00. It really worked for me. Good luck. |

I agree with rockhugger: you need to put sunscreen on or else any treatment you use may just make your inflammation worse which would lead you to think that it isn't working. |

I think you need to pinpoint the cause of your acne (hormones, foods, rosacea, harmful bacteria has taken up residence in your body, whatever) before you come up with a game plan. I caused a ton of damage to my face slathering it with acids before I figured out I had a food allergy. |

I have the same problem as you and I went to a determatogist and she put me on Nicomide. I have only been on it for a month, but so far I see no difference. I met a lady who has the same problem and she went on that Proacted or something like that and said that it works great. I will wait this out for another month before I try anything else. |

As someone who also has fair skin and redness, I know how annoying it can be trying to find the right coverage!
I think, sucking ice cubes immediately after a workout reduces redness in your face almost instantly by cooling down your body temp and calming capillary dilation. |

Guys, I did the rosacea protocol as described at earthclinic. Dirt cheap. Main ingredients are borax (yes, 20 mule team) and hydrogen peroxide.
I was a life-long rosacea sufferer who made many derms wealthy while getting no relief for myself.
The earthclinic method (plus a very low-carb diet) cleared me up within a month. I also lost 15 lbs since April!
I know. It sounds too good to be true. But the answers are out there. |

I have tried the sample of Paula's Skin Relief Treatment. It reduces redness instantly. I wonder if it can be used frequently because of the aspirin. |

I have some redness still from falling and scraping my face last year- just in the chin area and nose tip a bit still (most people do not notice...and it is just me i think....).
I tried samples of the Dermalogica anti redness and that is really nice!
but not sure the cleanser is better than Eucerin.
I also used to use Neostrata Rosacure- it is their anti redness moisturizer.
I really like it but always forget to buy it as I never find it at the store often (and have so much other stuff too).
But that one I really liked.
Eucerin is also really good and has a anti redness line.
I tried samples of it and really liked, but am just using Eucerin sunscreen and really like that, it is not harsh on the face. |

So which one is your favourite anti-redness product/line?

Pluto-I haven't tried the borox mixed with the hydrogen peroxide but I use the 1/8 tsp. mixed with a liter of water, which also helps flush out toxins and reduce yeast. Along with washing my face at night with a bit of borox in my Purpose cleanser and adding seabuckthorn oil after my products, it has made a differance in just a few short weeks. It sounds crazy but does work.
The main reason, besides rosacea, for trying this was that after I shower my skin would itch like crazy no matter what I used. This started about a year ago after we moved and got progressively worse as time went on. I attribute that mainly to the water. I went to a derm who wanted me to do steroids, allergy medications, etc. but I didn't want to do that. Once I found and tried this, the itch stopped as well. I think when your yeast, flouride and all are out of whack, skin problems flare up.
How much HP are you adding to what mixture?
There is tons of info on the site you mentioned for rosacea, very interesting read! Thanks for passing it on. |

Do you sleep on a particular side of your face at night. You might want to check out the MyFacePillow found at http://www.myfacepillow.com/. It prevents your face from being smashed into the pillow while you sleep, which may be causing your redness/acne. |

Oatmeal and honey as a mask will help to reduce inflammation. Oatmeal will also absorb oil and slough off dead skin cells whilst manuka honey has anti bacterial properties. |
