Hello!
I just purchased an IPL(intense pulse light) machine. I am wondering what your experiences are with this type of device? What did you use it for? What were the results, etc.?
I am asking in order to help with my decision to keep the machine or to return it. I have until the middle of August to decide if it is a worthwhile purchase for me.
Thanks in advance!

What type brand did you buy and is it an at-home or professional one? Also what are YOU wanting from it as well?
There are several mentioned on this forum and I am watching these too and waiting........ |

Hi Annie!
The machine is Biotechnique AVANCE/Quasar SPL600. I believe that it is a professional unit.
As far as what I HOPE to treat...Well, I want to use it to improve my skin as far as spider veins on my legs and just general skin rejuvenation...more so on my body vs. my face. (In fact, I have just started using the Palovia unit that I just purchased from QVC...so far, so good! It has helped with the few spider veins on my face so far!)
My chief complaints are my leg spider veins below my knees along with slightly sagging skin & cellulite on my thighs. I am trying to treat these MYSELF without injecting anything into my body or ingesting anything systemically...
I hope that we are going to find out MORE information SOON, but I am not holding my breath!
Warm Regards,
Valentine |

Why don't you try the machine and see how you go with it before writing it off.
In general, I like IPL treatments - they can be great for treating broken caps and for skin rejuvenation in general. The issue with home-use machines is "are they as good as a professional treatment?" I would have to say the answer is probably no, but then I have no experience with this particular machine.
I do not believe any IPL (both professional and home-use) will be useful for leg veins. Likewise, I don't think you'll manage to improve cellulite or sagging on the thighs. IPL is mainly used for the treatment of facial skin.
I hope you do give it a try though because I'd like to hear your feedback. |

Hi Keliu!
I have started using it on my legs. Basically, I have been zapping them in totality. I just want to see what happens. So far, I feel that it is working, but I do not know if it does anything... How would I be able to tell for sure when my understanding is that the effects on the skin are not immediately noticeable
More than anything, I just do not want to be hoodwinked...meaning is this machine legit? The sales rep gave me such a great deal because I had to be very patient...They sent me 3 machines before I got one that worked and was calibrated properly.
As far as my quest to improve my flaws...spider veins, sagging thighs, and cellulite, I am going to try it all...especially if it is not a systemic treatment. I really do not want to inject stuff into my body or take any questionable medication.
I will keep you posted on my progress. My deadline to return this for a complete refund is August 10th.
Be Well,
Valentine |

I recently purchased a VISS IPL - it's a much cheaper device for hair removal but I also bought the skin rejuvenation head.
I'm having great success with the hair removal, but IMO the skin rejuvenation head is doing nothing (I don't think it's powerful enough).
I've had numerous salon IPLs so I know that they can remove broken caps instantly - you get an instant visible result (although the procedure is quite painful). I'm certainly not seeing this from my device.
As far as leg veins go - I really think you would have to have these professionally treated.
If I were you, I would be using the machine on your face - and yes, you will have to wait to see results if you're looking at trying to stimulate collagen and elastin.
I would have liked to have bought a more expensive machine like yours - maybe I'll invest in one in the future. But I think you have to remember that no home-use machine is going to be as powerful as a professional one - and that a prof machine will cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. |
