I'm hoping some experienced diy-er can help me figure this out. I bought a 9 oz bottle of lotion from Platinum skincare (it is pineapple coconut scented and I couldn't resist. It's 7% glycolic acid. I'd really like to bump up the strength a bit to at least 10% if not 15. I have a bottle of 50% glycolic peel that I never seem to get around to using. I could use that to add strength but the math is beyond me. Can anyone give me an idea how to do this or at least tell me if it's a bad idea. |

Glycolic acid has to work at a specific pH range in order to be effective. The lotion you currently have is most likely already at this pH range, so adding more glycolic acid may change it, but I can't comment on how much. |

That's exactly what I want to figure out! If I know the ph of both and the % of glycolic, I'd love to know how to do the math!
I'm looking at 30% glycolic lotion, ph=.6 from Texas Naturals. I'd like to mix it with their aloe gel (ph=4.6). If I want a ph=<3 for glycolic body lotion = 15%, could i do a 50/50 mix? Help...Must exfoliate legs and arms...so many spots...
I've been using Amlactin and no longer feel the tingle. Miss the tingle... |
