Hi all!

Since the weather started heating up, my oily/comb skin has definitely been more clogged.
I'm in my early 20s and I've been considering using a peel to further exfoliate(JB Apple sounds fairly popular here)
but since I'm still young, I'm not sure it's necessary.

My chin has definitely been hit the worst. I get pimples and once they heal they leave a dark spot with raised skin.

Should I peel or should I just get a facial?
Any other suggestions are appreciated!

What have you been using to treat the pimples? Have you considered adding BHA to your routine? Paula's Choice is popular but I think neutrogena also offer some good options.

I dont consider the JB Apple peel an actual peel its more an fruit based exfoliant.

A microdermabrasion treatment will help with clogged pores.

I agree with GirlieGirl: Paula's Choice has some great options for BHA or even AHA if you can't tolerate BHAs. If you feel like splurging, you can try using the Clarisonic to help you relieve that clogged feeling though a simple wash cloth could help with that too.

Had my first glycolic acid peel at the of 18. But I had sun damage plus acne/scarring. My skin was not in good condition for a typical 18 year old.

Talking about Clarisonic, Daiso has this thing with bristles which you can use to scrub your face with. The entire thing is made of super soft rubber. Something like the Loreal facewash that comes with a brush pad attached. It's like a toothbrush for the face and costs like $2. Whenever I use it my face is super smooth and it doesn't hurt at all. In fact it's gentler than a washcloth too!

I had cystic pimples for years and finally after doing lactic acid peels (gentler peel) 1 time a week normally and 2 times a week in the summer, I am not suffering anymore. That combined with my Clarsonic has make a HUGE difference in my skin. I cannot be happier with my results.

Lactic acid peels are supposedly easier to tolerate and can be used by people with more sensitive skin. To me, I can feel the difference more with lactic than my glycolic anyway. My skin is baby soft and foundation goes on so smooth.

Hope that helps
