Hi girls,
so about a year ago I struggled with really bad breakouts and, after trying out tons of products, the lovely DarkMoon recommended the Garden Botanika charcoal mask to me. Now, nothing that i ever used made any sort of difference. I don't know, my skin is just like that. Aspirin masks, clay masks, all types of cleansers ... nothing does anything else than dry out my skin. So I wasn't very hopeful but tried it out anyway. And low and behold.. it really helped my skin. My breakouts have mostly cleared now and I just use it on bad skin days, but it is still my HG and a staple in my routine.
I noticed that I'm dangerously low on it, though, so today I wanted to order a new one.
And... --- it has been discontinued
I can't believe it. Literally the only thing that has ever helped, and I can't get it anymore. I'm so upset.
So, my question I guess would be, if anyone knows of any place where I can get this mask? I know this is a long shot but I want to try anyway just on the off-chance that anyone has a spare one they'd sell me or knows of any place that still carries it.
Thanks! |

Can you post the ingredients list? Perhaps it was reformulated or renamed into something else |

I'm not sure if it would similar but Paula's Choice has a mask with charcoal. I think it called something like Carbon balancing mask. You could buy a sample to try out(free shipping if you click thru beautypedia right now). |

I just googled out of curiousity, since the use of charcoal (internally, topically or in the enviro) has always piqued my interest: "Activated charcoal is far more superior than clays. It naturally soothes and absorbs environmental toxins deep within."
It seems like there are a few companies that offer charcoal masks. There are also diy recipes which just use charcoal tablets which you can apparently get from the drugstore.
Just in case you get desperate and can't find your particular product, of course. Good luck though! |

Thanks, Lori. I will probably end up resorting to just diying it.

Oh wow, there really are VERY few charcoal masks out there. I've looked at the Origins Clear Improvement mask and the Ph Charcoal mask that EDS offers.
Origins seems to be a bit more promising, as there are more reviews out there.
has anyone heard or tried ph before? I've never heard of this line before and find it a bit scary.
GirlieGirl i JUST saw what you wrote. Rushing to beautypedia right now.
Thanks!!! |

Hi OttawaShopper,
thanks for the tip.. I just checked out their website and for some reason can only find their charcoal shower gel (which sounds good, btw, lol). I can't find the mask |

Hi Penta,
I, too, struggle with finding a blemish-fighting treatment that doesn't dry out my skin. I don't have any suggestions for a mask with charcoal; however, I've heard that some gals are having success with Angel Face Super Detox facial cleanser (which contains activated charcoal). I tried a sample, but I couldn't continue using it for the long haul, because even the most insanely gentle foaming cleansers eventually dry me out. I wonder if you might have luck with it, though.
Hope you find a new favorite product soon! |

Hi Pixie Rose,
oh god, I have the exact same problem. My skin is super super sensitive and the only cleanser that I can use is Neutrogena extra gentle cleanser. I don't particularly like it, I don't feel like it controls breakouts at all, but literally everything else will dry and consequently break me out.
Thanks for the tip, though! |
