For measuring and mixing and then an I guess an airless pump? Which tools would minimize waste? What do you use?

I want to make a super vitamin c serum but I would like to incorporate prepared products in it that aren't cheap, like an (otc) retinol product.

Excellent question!
I feel a little silly mentioning this since its probably obvious to most, but a little set of different sized funnels really made my life easier.
I'd also like to find some small rubber spatulas if they make them, for wiping down oils/creams from the sides of mixing bowls.
I make things in very small amounts.

I'd also love to get a small push up measuring cup, to help scrape the sides off.

I haven't even thought of that- a measuring cup that pushes up. Where can I get one? I also want it to have a beak/spigot/lips to make it easy to pour.

I honestly just like to use a moist towel to exfoliate my face at night.

I have a solution! I'll make a fancy vitamin C serum, bottle it, and them immediately make a non fancy vitamin C serum for the body, so the dregs from the fancy serum will just be incorporated into the simple vitamin C serum, so I'll rest easy that the more expensive ingredients aren't wasted.

1. Jewellers scale
2. Mini spatula
3. Plastic baggies...pour the lot from the beaker into baggie, cut the corner and squeeze into bottle...slowly.

Yeah, both great ideas! (the not wasting using a body serum thing too)
I was hoping DragoN would see this one and contribute. Smile

I googled the other day and found both push up measuring cups & spoons! I was hoping I'd find them in local kitchen shops, but it didn't look promising as far as spoons go. I'm excited about those and may bite the bullet & order online.

By the way, does anyone know where I can buy single glass stir-sticks & maybe small beakers? What kind of places sell those? I'd rather go to a store than buy online, but I suppose I would if necessary.

The one tool that has helped the most when formulating my own creams would have to be droppers that have the different amount of mills written on the side of them. They come in small, medium, and large. They are great for measuring the exact amount of an ingredient you need (since you usually only need a small amount of liquid actives) and very easy to use.

Silicone cups!

You can do away with beakers and funnels after this. Very Happy
