I have had pimples and acne on my skins. I have got prescription by many doctors and physicians, but not got satisfactory results.
Finally a person came to me and gave me advice…
Do not use Soap in your face………I speak again that “Do Not Use Soap in Your Face”
Why is it?
When we use soap then soap particles moves inside the holes of our skin, and when the skin holes filled up by soap chemical then it creates irritation. Immune system of our body tries to take out chemical particles from the skin and it becomes the form of boil, pimple and acne.
Some people say that I wash my face in good manner after using soap?
Again problem, you cannot take out particles from your skin.
Why dust also harmful for sensitive and oily skin?
When we move in to the dust then it sticks on our face and go inside the holes and immune system has to do the same work as it does for soap particles and thus the boils come on the skin.
Sometime it becomes the hormonal problem, but it has yet not been finalized. The hormonal cause has not been identified yet, so “I shall go with soap and dust cause”
What you say?
Regards

I wanted to add soap is a huge no no for dry skin however having said that it can be quite useful for acne prone skins. |

Totally depends on skin type and the purity and type of soap. Some are harsher than others. Liquid soaps are less likely to clog pores and certain oils used for the saponification process to make soap are more comedogenic than others and some more drying (coconut makes for a nice creamy lather but can be drying for example).
Rosehip Liquid soap from skin beautiful is Ph balanced, but soap by nature is alkali and that can be drying (although healthy skin balances its pH in about 20mins). An acidic toner can help this too. Oily skin can benefit from appropriate soap and a weak ACV toner.
Soap bought in the supermarket tends to have foam boosters and detergents added and the natural glycerin produced in the saponification process taken out which can make it drying (they then sell the glycerin back to you in lotions and potions - genius!).
Some soaps can be gentler than ALS/ALES SLS/SLES based detergents used in facial washes. Some skins hate soap others do well on it, same with any sort of cleanser - wash/cream/oil.
I would say use whatever suits your skin, as long as it cleanses thoroughly and doesn't cause irritation or dryness.

Not sure of the question entirely but I don't like SLS and won't use it on my face. |

As Lucia states, modern day "soaps" aren't really soap any more. Real soap is made from fats or oils - the "soap" bars available in the supermarket are now made from chemicals and surfactants and can't be labelled soap.
If you want a natural soap, try Castile soap from a health food shop. Not sure about using Castile soap on skin that has acne though. |

I think soap is good for your skin.
Maybe not stuff like Dove and the chemical soaps.
You can buy some pure olive oil soap from Morocco or at Arabic stores- it is just made with olive oil and lye? or whatever they used hundreds of years ago to make soap.
the bar I used to buy was green and had no smell at all, very moisturizing.
or else I sometimes buy locally made goat milk soap from a lady who has a goat farm.
there is a bunch of people in my city who make really nice natural soaps,so I buy those.
usually for my face I prefer liquid soaps.
but sometimes I use soap on my face and it is fine. |

The Castile Soap that I buy is made from Olive Oil. I've also heard that Goats Milk Soap is excellent - great for eczema. Although I've not tried it myself. |

I think Dr Bronners soaps are castille soaps.
I used to use the DHC olive oil cleanser and it is like a castille soap too.
Another one I tried years ago was Dessert Essence- it worked well and was good for removing makeup and sunscreen.
I might go back to using it as I like using more natural things.
The problem with most goat milk soaps at the drugstore is they still seem to contain a lot of other chemicals.
I see some brand Canus goat milk and their bar seems like it has so much other chemicals that I'm not sure it is a very helpful soap.
I know "health food stores" often sell all natural handmade soap bars, as do a lot of other places.
Right now I sometimes buy some soap bars from a lady who makes soaps and bath products at the farmer co-op I joined.
Her soaps are all handmade and she uses mostly herbs that she grows on her farm.
I tried a Anise soap, and that smelled like black licorice when you used it, but the smell does not stay (that is fine though..don't wanna smell like that all day).
Tried a Chocolate soap and it did not smell anything like chocolate-I was told there was cocoa powder and cocoa butter...
Still nice, but was hoping for some kind of scent...
I am still working through trying all that ladies soaps...
Just checked her website and she is retiring her business gonna stock up on some soaps then...

I also bought a soap from Green Gardens naturals a few months ago.
The bar was nice, but the peppermint and spearmint bar is drying for the face..
better for the body in summertime.
