Hi I have just been looking at ADC getting ready to order some more retin a I have already ordered Retin A 0.025 but did not realise it was a gel from what I have read cream is better for more sensitive skin but nevermind....
Anyway I saw they sell a Retin A micro called Supatret in strengths 0.04% and 0.1 from what I understand the ret a micro is more slow releasing so better for sensitive skin please correct if I am wrong
I just wondered how a retin a gel 0.025 compares to retin a micro 0.04 in strength and what would be better for more sensitive skin ??
Also I've read about auro ear drops for teeth whitening but they don't sell it in U.K and they don't sell it on ADC can anyone recommend some other brands ADC may stock.
Thanks |

Micro was designed with acneic skin in mind because their skin can be considered sensitive due to the acne. It is also good for that type of skin because the microspheres help absorb oil, which is characteristic of acneic skin. However, can still help with sensitive skin that does not have acne, simply because it is slow-release, as you have already mentioned.
The cream is for people with drier skin types. It is not ideal for blemish-prone skin though because one of the ingredients in the cream can be pore clogging.
And the gel is primarily for oily skin, but really, if your skin isn't responding badly to it, you can keep using it. |

Thanks for explaining that, I haven't received the retin a yet paitently waiting, I did have spot prone skin till I started taking dianette prescribed by my doc but I want to stop taking as I heard it can cause broken capillaries skin is quite so hopefully Retin A will keep spots away.
My skin is quite sensitive would retin a micro 0.04 be more/less harse than 0.025 retin a ? |

I honestly can't tell you the right answer to that because the 0.04 cannot directly be translated to non-micro dosages because they work differently. It's best if you can ask your dermatologist or just to try it and see how it goes. Hope this helps |

Retin-A/RAM would be likely to cause broken cap's then Dianette. I have never heard of birth control pills causing broken capillaries. |

I have oily skin and started with the .025 gel, which gave me flaking (which wasn't too bad, but it was visible on my brown skin & not letting up!), so I started alternating with the .025 cream, which took care of it. Rather than make my skin oilier, the cream seemed to help regulate my skin's oil production. I used up the gel and used the cream alone for a long time.
After those 2 tubes were done, I moved to the .04 and my skin is reacting really positively to it! The only thing is that it dries really quickly, so you have to spread it on quick - I don't dot my whole face at once anymore, I do portions at a time. Otherwise I get chunks that ball up which never got a chance to be drunk into the skin.
I can't tell what this formulation actually is - it seems like a cross between gel and cream. All these I've used are from ADC.
If you're worried about sensitivity, I wonder if you can't just mix it with some other benign product that you know your skin is ok with and take it slow that way? And also skip days, etc, of course. |

I will just take it slow with the 0.025 and see how I get on planning to start when I have a few days off from work just in case it's a disaster !
I have read mixed views about the broken caps some say Retin A has improved them others have got worse hopefully not the latter for me, I am saving up for IPL but would prefer not to create a bigger problem in the meantime
