I am looking for a natural (no orange) bronzer, to give me a healthy glow. I have blond hair, green eyes and am quite pale. Skin - normal/comb.
I would love to hear your suggestions and I am particulary interested to hear if you have tried Giorgio Armani sheer bronze at all.
Thanks |

sorry, I've never tried it. I keep hearing the Jane Iredale mineral bronzers are great. They'll be my splurge purchase in the spring after exams |

Is that the powder one? I've got GA bronzer in powder form (in #1) and it's very good and looks very natural on pale little me
ETA: If your heart's not 100% set on a powder then Dr Hauschka makes a lovely Bronzing Concentrate that you can use by itself or mix in with moisturisers. Looks very natural as well. |

Sorry I can't help with the Armani, but I really adore the Terracotta bronzer from Guerlain. I have a medium, yellow-toned skin, and #2 is perfect for me, but there are six? different colours to choose from. |

My very favorite bronzer is Jane Iredale's Bronzer Blush. It works perfect on my skin. |

Bare Escentuals Warmth is wonderful. It looks very dark in the jar, but it blends beautifully. I have very pale skin, and it's great on me. The best thing about it is that you can completely control the shade. In the wintertime, I only need a speck of it on my makeup brush to make me look healthy & even-toned. Then in the summer, I use a bit more to achieve a more sun-kissed glow. It's also nice because you can mix it with other things -- with a light blush for a rosier flush in winter; with Clear Radience for a glistening glow; with Mineral Veil (or with your favorite finishing powder) for a more matte, subtle look.
A very versitile product. (In fact, you also can use it as eye shadow, or blend with a gloss to make a warm, natural lip color.) Highly reccomended!
Edited to add: I've also been using the Dr. Hauschka Bronze Concentrate. Wonderful product. Also very easy to control the shade, as you just mix a tiiiiny bit in with your moisturizer. It's nice in the winter, especially if you have dry skin.

KateLewis,
I have pale skin as well. I love bronzer powder compacts because it gives better control over the effect and intensity. I only brush it on where the sun naturally hits my face (cheekbones, forehead, nose, & chin), and it gives me a healthy, natural glow and a slight depth to my features.
Just like the other ladies here, I like Dr Hauschka's Bronzing Concentrate. But I only lightly tint my moisturizer with it on occassion...when I want to boost the overall color of my face, neck, and decollete, or when I want to skip foundation for the day. It takes a bit of practice to learn how to control the color intensity. Also it is difficult to control the pump, because it dries up a bit in the opening, even when turned closed. I just have a tissue at the ready to wipe that bit off my hand, before I mix it in. (I've had one bottle for at least 5 years it does not turn rancid). After I boost my skin tone with the tinted moisturizer, I apply the powder bronzer as normal to give more natural look.
At the moment, I am in love with Chantecaille's Compact Soleil Bronzer in Capri. The main reasons I bought this one instead of Armani's Sheer Bronzer was 1.) I liked this formulation straight away, so I did not even give Armani's a try and 2.) cheaper refill pans for the compact are available. I don't know this to be true for Armani Cosmetics. |

If you're looking for a powder bronzer, I think Guerlain really is unsurpassed. But, I'd urge you to try the Dr. Hauschka bronzer concentrate. It's a liquid and it can be used no matter what your tone. It looks completely natural and you'll find that, in addition to making you look great and healthy, it also has a beneficial effect on your skin. |
