I am not sure where to ask this so I just posted this here.
I have short hair (boycut) and recently I have noticed that my hair stays extremely dry and, to top things off, it seems to be thinning! I think it is thinning around the center of head area. I don't put anything in my hair except shampoo/conditioner and paste occasionally. I am worried and was wondering what the best course of action. I have dark brown/black hair and it is a little wavy. HELP! |

| I would see your dr for some blood work and a check up if you need one. You should rule out a medical condition or deficiency before you try to fix it guessing. |

| Thicker Hair Shampoos and protein thickeners add volume to thin and hard to manage hair. Some of these products give you thicker hair by using products to increase hair growth. Vitamins, Proteins, Moisture, Natural Stimulants! These are all good hair products for thinning hair. Placing 1 or 2 drops of safflower oil in your palms and rub them together. |

Dry thinning hair can be a sign of certain medical issues (thyroid in particular). Agree with GirlieGirl - get yourself to the Doctors for a full blood workup.
If there is an underlying medical condition nothing you do externally or internally will help much other than from a cosmetic point of view. (In fact if it is something like thyroid supplements can make it worse especially those containing iodine (kelp).
For me it was the BCP yasmin - totally messed with my health including my hair and it didn't resolve till I stopped taking it (my Doctor still refuses to believe that Yasmin caused all my health problems despite the fact that they started to resolve once I stopped taking the darned thing!). |
