Just wondering if someone could advise on this..
I have developed a small red patch on my left cheek, I thought it was a really large spot that was going to develop but it is flat and today it looks like a red scaly patch? It started to appear about 2 days ago, and now I see a smaller one appearing about two inches beside it?
I have just started using Osmosis Stem Cell & Replenish. I was using once a day but upped it to twice a day. Been using it about 9 days? I have also been using Retin A 0.025% for about 3 weeks.
Do you think its a reaction to the Osmosis or the Retin A? My skin is definitely feeling abit dry lately, I have tried Emu oil but I really dont like the feel of oils on my skin
Any suggestions or advice, thanks..x |

How often are you using the Retin-A? That will most likely cause some dryness.
When I add a new Osmosis serum to my regime I only use it once every second day until my skin acclimatises because there are a lot of actives and my skin is quite sensitive.
Also dryness is a sign that the dermis is moving too quickly for the epidermis so it means you have to back off a bit. |

Could be many things - from an opportunistic infection to an allergic reaction - so it would be safest to have the area examined by a dermatologist or pharmacist. If it's possible you have sensitive or reactive skin, it may be best to change your routine more slowly than you are at present. |

I have been using Retin A about 3 weeks and had no problems at the beginning which actually surprised me because I was using every night. Under one eye got abit dry so I have dropped it back to every 2nd or 3rd night. I was going to stop using the Osmosis and see if it cleared up but might just drop back to once a day instead.
If the dermis is moving too quickly for the epidermis should I exfoliate more or less?
thanks for the advice. |

One of my friends who just happens to also be a doctor used Retin-A every night for a month and nothing happened, no flaking, peeling or redness, then all of a sudden she started shedding like crazy with loads of redness - so that put the brakes on her every night Retin-A application! lol Retin-A is the most likely culprit. I can only use Retin-A once a week because I get severe dryness and peeling from it.
When I first started using Stemfactor I was using it every night and for the first time ever I had a case of the skincare 'uglies' lol - my face became excessively dry so I had to cut back to using it every other night and my face sorted itself out within the following 2 weeks. Once my skin had adjusted to Stemfactor I have been able to use it both morning and night ever since.
I would try to maybe let my skin settle down a few days before trying to exfoliate - but that's just me - I have quite sensitive skin so I have to be gentle with it...
