hi guys... my hair has been thinning really bad. I used to have thick hair and i have an appointment with the doctor in november to check that up. I was wondering... is there anything i can use to help grow thick hair? i know biotin helps with the length and it has worked for me but i'm looking to grow back my thick hair. Any tips and products you suggest will help. thank you

Please be very cautious when supplementing individual micronutrients. Vitamins and minerals work in opposition or synergistically; high doses of some (inc. biotin) can be toxic. It's far safer to clean up your diet; this will provide the full range of macro- and micro-nutrients required for healthy skin and hair.

marishka04 since you have a doctor's appointment, I think it's best to wait and get a clean bill of health before trying supplements. Some may seem safe, but perhaps it isn't a supplement deficiency that is the cause of your hair loss. Hormones, thyroid issues, anemia, an autoimmune condition, etc could all contribute to it...as can aging.

The only thing I'd suggest is massage for now. Really knead your scalp to keep it from getting tight and stiff like most bald people seem to have theirs. This link gives one way to do it: wikihow.com/Give-Yourself-a-Scalp-Massage

I do something similar but rather than just apply pressure, I also make circular motions. I do apply pressure as if trying to bring fingers together then make circular motions that mirror each other. I may also alternate hands, move one first then the other in circular movements. My favorite time to give myself a scalp massage is when shampooing my hair. Shampooing for me is mainly an excuse to give my scalp a good massage. At the end of my wash, I do like to do an apple cider vinegar (ACV) rinse but I add essential oils of lavender and rosemary to a basin of a very dilute solution of ACV and submerge my head then massage it my scalp to my hearts content.

I believe good circulation and eating well so only useful nutrients are being circulated in your blood is good whether one has hair loss issues or not. You have nothing to lose. Even if it turns out that you are deficient in something, the improved circulation will go a long way to ensuring your follicles are well nourished. Also do not stress. Stress is a big hair loss inducer. Keep a positive mental attitude. There's always something that can be done so do not despair even if things look bleak at the very start.

I just heard on the radio that massaging rosemary and olive oil onto your scalp can help stimulate hair growth.
