Does anyone know a site where I could buy liquid retin a?? I want to try a diy version of Dr. Brandt's prescription for hair growth which combines latisse with liquid retin a. I tried all day chemist, but they only sell cream and gel. Any thoughts? |

Retin-A is the brand name, tretinoin is the drug name IIRC. Have you tried searching for a solution of that? Do you know what strength you need? Are you going to use a generic version of bimatoprost? Latisse is very expensive.
ETA: Google says in the US and Canada the brand name for tretinoin solution is Renova tho you may find a generic. |

Yeah, I think I tried every generic, name brand, formulation I could think of!! I don't know the exact compounding prescription Dr. Brandt gives out, but based on all the research about tretinoin and hair growth...I was going for a .05% strength.
I was definitely going to use the generic, careprost for this mad science experiment! |

Are you sure a liquid version is currently for sale to the public? They may have withdrawn it for reformulation or poor turnover. Using the liquid in recent studies doesn't mean it is available to mere mortals. I'd be inclined to contact the manufacturer, you don't have to specify why since the use is off label. |

Seems like retinoic acid solution might be available on ebay according to echoecho in the below thread. I personally wouldn't recommend trying to DIY with this stuff though.
Need help with using retinoic acid solution for DIY?

Retin-A used to come in liquid - I was getting in that form in Australia in 1997-1999 - then it just vanished and was replaced with the cream and gel versions.
The liquid absolutely ROCKED!!! I think they discontinued it due to mis-use and it was a little tricky - you had to dip a Q-tip into it and dot or wipe it on. It was the ultimate zit killer lol Just a dab on a zit and hey presto, gone by morning.
I really wish they would bring it back because it worked like nother else. |

I found a formula by Dr. Lewenberg that is a combination of liquid tretinoin and 2%minoxidil. I've been using that for about a week. I haven't received the careprost shipment yet, but my plan is to put that in a small spray bottle(I ordered 5 bottles) and spray that on after the Lewenberg formula. Just call me lab rat |

This is an amazing result I couldn't decide whether to patent or share I ended up putting 10 precious drops of my actual Latisse in the Lewenberg formula and using it at least once a day.
My hair has not been this thick, healthy, shiny, or long since I was a teenager. (pre- highlighting days!)It didn't happen overnight...I would say 3 months to begin to see real results, but talk about results! Here's to happy hair days!! |

Hello Loribar, were you able to get liquid trintoinn (sp)? or you are using cream/gel. I have been using 2% minoxidil and Retinol 0.025% for a month now, but still no results. What % of Retinol did you use? TIA |

The liquid retin a and minoxidil were already premixed in the Lewenberg formula...all I did was add the 10 drops of Latisse to the bottle. |

Actually I found that but his prices are too high. I am right now using 0.025% Tretinoin and 2% Minoxidil for a month now. but still see no results, will continue at least for 6 months. |

I completely understand Rosy14...I know I'm overpaying but I could never find a source for the liquid retin a and decided the convenience of that formula was worth it! Definitely give it some time and be consistent in your application. I do believe you will see results. Good luck! |
