I had two granulomas removed from my leg that were caused by ingrown hair. It's been one month since the removal and I have red scars. They were not infected but I didn't expect to have those kind of red scars ..what can I do to make them fade?is it normal to have that redness even at the marks of the stitches after a procedure like that?
has anyone tried silicone plasters?

Redness is normal. It will fade on its own but it can take several months. Silicone sheets are great for keeping scars flat but not so much for the color. You could try something like scar guard lightener. Most important is keeping scars protected from the sun.

It took a full year for my surgical scar to fully fade.

ETA: Sorry, by fade I mean, the redness subsided and it matches the rest of the area. Just be glad it's not on your face.

Yes my daughter got a bad cut on her face and required stitches by a plastic surgeon. Unfortunately its right on her cheek. The dr recommended silicon as well, lots of massage, vitamin E oil. He did say nothing is "proven" to work to get rid of the scars but it may help with the fading. I've also read Bio oil is good.

For surgical scars I would suggest Eminence Stone Crop Serum. It is well-known for speeding up healing and lightening without causing irritation to the wound.

Use coconut oil or turmeric powder. They have antiseptic properties that effectively removes scars. Skin ointments containing aloe vera also works good for surgical scars.
