I'm learning a ton about facial exercises and facial massage techniques, which I'm super excited about. I'm learning about how massage stimulates the skin and causes collagen to regrow. How awesome is that! I battled insomnia for almost 2 years, and the skin under my eye thinned a bit, making some blue veins more visible. I just learned on here a massage technique for undereye to thicken it, so I will follow up with you all to let you know how it's working.

Here's my question...if massage works for the face to thicken skin, will it also work for the body? I went through a very dark season (deep depression and anxiety. I came out stronger, though!!!!) that lasted 2 years, and it seems that my skin all over my body seemed to thin some. My veins all over my body are more visible. I will only wear shorts when I'm feeling super duper brave, which isn't all the time. I do have a dry brush that I'm very unfaithful to use. I'm also aware that the skin on the face is different than the skin on the body.

Any ideas/experiences?

Thanks!

Hi there
I am no expert, but some users here really like dry brushing and No Lipo Lipo for skin on body. As for thickening it, some people use Copper Peptides but they are nothing to go into lightly. Some love them, some don't but they must be used as directed and systematically so to speak.

Massage will help promote circulation...not sure if it would thicken skin but others have way more knowledge than me. My skin is very crepy and lined/loose on my legs and I weight under 100 lbs and work out and eat right. I have issues with connective tissue disorder so my skin in very stretchy and lose. I hate it... Confused

Maybe others will chime in and offer good suggestions. Good luck and sorry for your hard time and down times.
Best of luck

Hi Aprilbree,

As redcat mentioned, Carole Maggio's No Lipo Lipo does involve dry brushing as well as a deep knuckle massage type treatment. The technique can strengthen the skin and tone the muscles beneath the skin. I am not sure if it thickens the skin, but many have said that it seems to toughen the skin. Perhaps this is because it makes it more resilient. But, it's all good!! It's great for thinning, crepey skin and lifts everything up. I believe that is because it strengthens the connective tissue. The horsehair mitt that Carole sells works really well. As for the veins, you probably need some type of supplement....not sure what kind. I think you should try the NLL... You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. You should also email Carole about the veins...she might be able to offer a solution. All the best, Aprile Smile

Try not to laugh yourself to death or anything.

This machine is nearly pre-historic. Apparently is now "vintage"...

My mother had (still has) this thing when I was growing up.

We used to think it was hysterical. But I'd even use it on my feet! Nothing like a good beating to work out the kinks in your feet after a point class.

I do think massage is GREAT for your skin. Anything that gets the blood rushing will do wonders for your skin.

So... dry/wet brushing. The no lipo lipo looks like a great way to work your bod yourself...

What better reason for a hard core sports massage at least once a week.

Oh Claudia those rolling machines were the most popular units at a spa that I used to go to years ago(we won't say how many years Laughing). They were the cellulite busters!!!Also there were the vibrating belts.... Image

On one of the threads they talk about a new vibrating machine at health spas called, the spa angel..something like that. It is a platform that vibrates and you stand on it..and it tones the body. they say it works. so those old fashioned vibrating fat jigglers might really have worked! lol

I have several friends with the vibration machines and have had success in toning, cellulite loss, and some weight loss. Santa brought me one yesterday...don't have it together yet but I plan to put it to good use! Very Happy
