Hi Everyone
I am new here. I came across this site by searching for methods to clean out clogged pores. Because of all the great information found here, I have started the oil cleansing method. I started first with Argan oil, which is wonderful. I eventually got the castor oil, and now mix it with jojoba or argan.

I came across some lemon oil at the supplement store today and thought I would give it a try, but I wanted to know how you all have used it in the past. It says to mix with something. What has been your experience with it? What did you blend it with?

This must be an essential oil in which case if you were to use it on your skin, you'd dilute to like a drop per cup of oil, or whatever you're using it with. Maybe not that diluted, but you get what I mean. I just want to get that out there in case someone misinterprets... its NOT a carrier oil like jojoba or almond or olive that can be used undiluted.

And it should never be used on the skin in however small concentrations without proper sun protection or better yet avoiding the sun entirely - after use.

I've used it in low concentrations as part of recipes... its stimulating, detoxifying, an astringent, antiseptic... but mostly I just like making a room spritz or throwing some in a diffuser - perks ya right up!

As LoriA says, it's probably an essential oil. If so, I would use my normal OCM mix and add about 10 drops of the lemon EO to an ounce of OCM.

I use lemon essential oil all the time. It's a great moisturizing oil, and it does help to clear out the pores. Plus, it smells awesome. Who doesn't love lemons?
Just be sure to only use it at night. Using lemon oil during the day can cause permenent pigment changes in your skin. Any citrus oil can do this, with the exception, (I think - double check this info), of mandarine/tangerine oil.
But yes, lemon oil used in conjunction with the OCM can have lovely results. It adds a nice glowy lustre.
Also, it does need to be diluted - about 5 - 10 drops per ounce of carrier oil. And keep in mind that lemon oil loses its efficacy after about 6 months.
