I finally got around to buying this and am now wondering if it's really all that healthy. Have read it can cause insulin resistance. Anne Louise Gittleman pushes it as part of her "Fat Flush" and Bethenny Frankel has a SkinnyGirl "daily energy" supplement that contains it....... Initial impression is that it does seem to burn body fat but I've noticed uptick in hunger during the day which I normally don't have from doing so much intermittent fasting. |

I tried CLA for a while. Really didn't seem to do anything, and yes, I seemed more hungry as well.
I stopped taking it about a two years back. I wonder if it is more suitable for males? |

I was hungry initially on it but now feel fine. Think it helps a little but the thing is it's not really necessary despite what all the hype says ie "we no longer have CLA in our food supply and must take it in supplement form." Yet a lot of people seem to take it...... My whole thing is how it has popped up in Bethenny Frankel's Skinnygirl line. She eats low cal sure and does some exercise but nothing really serious & also is a vegetarian. Seems she uses CLA to give her body what she doesn't get from meat, butter etc, ie things she doesn't eat.

Mark Sisson of Mark's Daily Apple says don't take CLA:

I just finished my first bottle of Jarrow CLA and have two more to use...Jarrow had a sale on amazon, $4.88 a bottle. I have lost a little weight and don't feel hungry. I find it easier to pass on sweets. |

Dr Oz recommends CLA especially if you have stubborn belly fat. I've learned, tho, that he isn't always right. (He's been wrong, for example, about vitamin c serum). He also recommends raspberry ketones for losing fat all over. I really really want this to be true, but I suspect it isn't. |

Yeah Dr. Oz I don't really trust. CLA is ok, I don't use it every day. I've had some symptoms on it but sure it seems to be great for tummy fat.
Raspberry ketones and citrus extract in general are in a lot of the diet pills. |

Unfortunately, the only thing CLA did for me was make it nearly impossible for me to lose weight (same thing happens when I take fish oil). As soon as I stop taking it, the weight whooshes off. Weird, huh? |

I've been using it since the beginning of the year and it works. |

I have taken CLA for about a year (two caps; twice daily) I love it! It took a while (two months) to see results. It did not really suppress my appetite, but my muscles are much firmer - especially my thighs and calfs. I don't think it really did much for my abdomen. The only thing that works there for me is losing weight and working out. CLA is not a miracle cure, but it does work (for me) with continued use. |
