I am looking for a great cleanser for dry-sensitive skin that is prone to acne. I love dermalogica ultra-calming cleanser and have been using this for years but i want to try something new. Any suggestions? |

Google suggests the Dermalogica contains sodium cetearyl sulphate, which is a surfactant from the same family as sodium lauryl sulphate. These are contra-indicated in those with dry skin or dermatitis. How just 1% in an emollient base can affect healthy skin

Might be worth seeing how sulphate-free affects your skin? Bad news is they are in shampoos, shower gels, hand wash, dish soap and even toothpaste. Speaking for myself even shampoo bubbles running down my arm triggers my mild atopic eczema, and obviously it's impossible to keep the foam off your face in the shower. |

When you are satisfied with Dermalogica then why do you want to switch to another product. |

My skin tends to be sensitive to cleansers, 2 of my favorites are from Paula's Choice. I really like the new Resist cleanser and also the Skin Recovery. |

La Roche Posay Effaclar H Foam, perhaps? I found it to be very gentle and efficient, at least it managed to get off water-resistant sunscreen without drying skin out and I didn't have to rub or use wash cloth. In fact, it seemed to add some moisture to skin, but with no sticky layers, just supple skin after cleansing, even without any moisturizer on top. It's very good, but given that the 150 ml aerosol runs out fast, it lasted about 5 weeks and I used it only mornings, it's a comparatively expensive cleanser. |
