I wanted to buy my mom a gift. She is 50 yrs old and so she needs a good moisturizer and eye cream for anti aging. Out of these lines Jan Marini, Skinceuticals and ZO....what would you recommend to have the best daily moisturizer and eye cream? thx |

Hi
I think that all those product lines are high-quality, results-driven but which line / product to chose depends on what the major issues are that need addressing - e.g. fine lines / deeper lines; loss of elasticity; pigmentation etc. Personally, I tend to pick and mix from different skincare lines and products because, for me, I've never found a line that addresses every issue - and as we get older, there can be a lot more than one issue! |

The only moisturizer I've used myself from the 3 brands you mention is the SkinCeuticals Daily Moisture, which is a good basic one with good reviews. I think that for anti-ageing, a serum is often more powerful than a moisturizer. I subscribe to Dr. Obagi's philosophy that a moisturizer shouldn't be needed every day if your skin is healthy as it should generate its own moisture. I have found it's better to spend on a serum and buy just a very basic, inexpensive moisturizer to use as and when needed and I'm a similar age to your mom. I haven't used any eye products from the lines you mention. If you are only interested in these 3 brands, it's best to look at reviews. Makeup Alley does reviews you can filter by age range. |
