Hi, I just joined the forum and started posting all the questions I can think of because I'm weary of continuing ont he Obagi Nuderm.
I didn't realize when I started it, that it was a life long commitment or your skin will return back to the way it was. Does it mean you get the spots you faded back? Or that you are succeptible to get new ones since you're not protected anynmore?
And what are the long term effects of using Hydroquinone? I've read many places taht it's cancerous when used long term. I think this would fit as "long term"... |

Effective anti-ageing is a lifelong commitment, no product or treatment is permanent. What information have you had on hydroquinone and Obagi aftercare from your dermatologist, family doctor or pharmacist? |

Well, the person selling it to you will always tell you it's safe.
It's just what I've heard around the net. Hydroquinone may cause cancer if used for a long period of time.
I was hoping that I can successfully maintain without hydroquinone. After all, if my spots are gone, why do I have to keep lightening? Will the same spots come back? I assume you continue the hydroquinone for future protection against new spots.
Anyways, my spots are 100% due to my own fault of pricking at my little bumps and causing PIH (post inflamatory hyperpigmentation), so I hope that if I control myself, I should be ok. |

Some people can maintain without the HQ after Nu Derm. When you get to maintenance, the goal is to use the least amount of products you can to maintain your results. |
