For getting a best solution of your frizzy hair, You simply massage some of the oil into your hair after taking a shower or bath, when your hair is wet. You can also apply it onto the hair while dry but it soaks into the hair more thoroughly while it is still wet.

What works for me is not washing it with shampoo every three days, but with conditioner (first time to get the dirt out; second time to condition). After washing it, I put argan oil in it. Then I style it, and use argan oil for the ends again.

A couple of years ago I just left a lot of my conditioner in my hair; did not rinse it all out. That worked too, but if it starts raining, you notice the conditioner...

Hope it helps!

Don't know if I can be of any use but I have curly hair, would have told you fluffy/ poofy/ wavy/ frizzy up to last year. Spent decades battling my hair and never found any products or techniques to reliably keep my hair smooth and straight. I now follow Curly Girl techniques and my entire family is in shock that at almost 40 I suddenly have defined ringlets. It's also in good enough condition not to have needed trimming in ten months, although I am still growing out serious mechanical and chemical damage!

Even if you are not ready to embrace your curls, you might consider following some of the techniques? Firstly I never use sulphate shampoos nor silicone conditioners. Instead I conditioner-only wash (fine hairs prefer a sulphate-free shampoo), then use a leave-in oil-based but non greasy conditioner. Never brush only comb, never use terry towel only microfibre (some use cotton t-shirts). I style with silicone and alcohol free products which do not coat, grease or dry the hair. I deep condition with coconut oil because this contains fatty acids small enough to penetrate the hair shaft. The rest of the 'rules' are only relevant if you wish to style your hair curly.

I can honestly tell you my hair calmed down and my scalp became less oily from the first week of stopping using sulphates and silicones! BTW research shows sulphates can cause hair loss/ thinning in susceptible individuals - my mother definitely has this. This is the thread that gave me my Idea moment, realising I was not the only one with totally unmanageable hair! http://www.naturallycurly.com/curltalk/general-discussion-about-curly-hair/47609-post-your-before-after-cg-pics.html

Thank you for this information Firefox. I looked through the link you provided and followed some of the suggestions there. Who knew I had wavy hair? I thought it was just straight and frizzy, but wow I am loving these waves that came through after treating properly. ...and this is only after a day. Expecting good things for my hair in the near future.

I have wavy hair that can frizz. The Naturally Curly website is very helpful.

http://www.naturallycurly.com/

One of my latest must have products is Curl Keeper. No silicone and feels like water in the hair. I apply a leave-in conditioner first and then Curl Keeper. CK has no hold so I apply a ('cone free) gel next.

This is the manufacturer site. It is available at other suppliers/salons. Canadian product.

Here is a summary of the Curly Hair rules. I also suggest reading the book by Lorraine Massey. She created the Deva Curl line.

I've been using nuhairrx serums for years for my long, wavy, fine frizzy hair. nuhairrx is my favorite serum and have been using it for more than 2 years. It doesn't make my hair look greasy or weigh it down and it completely washes out. I blow dry and straighten daily, so my hilited/colored hair gets abused. nuhairrx serum sells for $29.95 on company website- order it from company website! Also, I use 5-6 pumps and bottle lasts over a month with daily use.

My hair was badly damaged following radiotherapy post op. My hairdresser cut off approx 2" and recommended I get Pro Naturals hair repair system. I have been using their argan oil after every shampoo applied to mainly the ends and length of damp hair before using a blow dryer or heat styling iron to curl my hair (hair is dead straight). Now I have super shiny hair, that shows no sign of heat damage at all. I wash & style my hair on average every 4th day.
Can't tell you anything about marula oil, just know the name and that it comes from South Africa.
