Sorry if this has been asked before but I was wondering if there's a specific type of cream I should use along with the usage of a derma roller. Would it be okay to use M2 20% Skin Refinish? (M2's skin refinish's ingredients are: Water, Mandelic Acid, Malic Acid, Algae Extract, PEG-8/SMDI Copolymer, Potassium Hydroxide, Artemisia Vulgaris Extract, Polysorbate 60, Isohexadecane, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Ubiquinone, Hyaluronic Acid, Corallina Officinalis Extract, Squalane, Cyclopentasiloxane, Polyacrylate, Dimethicone, Tetrasodium EDTA)
I'm still trying to learn more about reading ingredients to find suitable or less harmful products but it's been overwhelming... so any comments or help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks! |

Do you mean dermarolling for product penetration or for collagen induction or both?
You do not want to use alcohol, astringents, atronger acids or alkalis after a deeper roll because they will burn. Also exercise caution with any known irritants or anything you wouldn't be happy to eat - bear in mind you are breaking down the skin barrier and intensifying the effect of every ingredient, not just the actives. Some products/ ingredients make you itch deep inside the skin, a very unpleasant feeling: I had that with a very plain HA peptide serum (argireline or Matrixyl, forget which). There is also a question mark over using any ingredient which has anti-inflammatory properties right after rolling (which cuts out a fair number of antioxidants and healing plant extracts) the theory being reducing inflammation will also reduce collagen induction. I ignore that and use aloe vera gel emulsified in the hand with rosehip oil after a fairly aggressive roll. IMO there is enough research supporting its collagen inducing properties regardless of its anti-inflammatory powers, plus I still have irritation and swelling for the next few days.
Couple of useful links from the OwnDoc site, if you run a search you will find many other questions on product use

Thank you Firefox! Really appreciate your information!
A few days ago I notice a few indented marks on my face from old acne scars -- I guess they are appearing as my collagen are decreasing . So I'm trying to find ways to tame the problem.
Btw, do you know where or what brand of aloe vera gel and rosehip oil? |
