I finally threw this recipe together last night....WOW!! So simple and such a great consistency!

Just want to make sure that I am getting the most out of it. How do I know that it is penetrating?? Have you measured the PH of this one?

Also, I am not losing out by not adding the Ferulic acid right? (this is just meant to stabalize the LAA?)
Thanks so much...as always!! Razz

Glad you like it, I'm enjoying it also..(Makes a great body lotion, so I usually make 4oz.)

I have NOT checked the pH, but highly doubt you will find it to be less than 5 to 6(ish), so NO, you will have to formulate differently, to reap the collagen synthesis benefits. Frankly though, I would really encourage you to not pass up an opportunity to really enjoy what a good team of antioxidants can do for you head to toe..

FA is a nice antioxidant, so I like to incorporate it wherever I can.. Yes it *helps* to stabilize L-AA, but that isn't my main reason for using it.. I use it because it doubles the synergistic effects I already enjoy by using vitamin C & E.. The 3 together become a super antioxidant if you will.. Very Happy

So, in order to reap the collagen synthesis benefits, would you recommend using the other CEF serum and topping it with the cerave? Is there a way to make the serum less sticky?
Do you use the LAA Cerave formula on your face once a day?
Currently I am using Retin A at night followed by the Cerave PM and the C serum (or lotion the last two days) with the same moisturizer. I cleanse with Cetaphil (at night with Clarisonic). Does this sound okay? Sorry for all the questions...you must get so annoyed by us newbies Rolling Eyes

Kassy, is it OK to substitute, or add as an additional ingredient, tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate? It is a much more stable form and apparently is phenomenal for the skin.

THANK YOU!!!

15% Vit C Lotion, 1oz.

1 tsp L-AA powder (or adjust to 5 to 7% if you want to use the oil soluble alternatives ie; MAP, THDA.
1 TBS distilled water
1 TBS CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion
3 or 4 drops of Vit E Oil

Can someone explain the bold to me. I am a newbie does that mean "5% to 7%". I want to use MAP or THDA due to sensitive skin. I don't understand what the percentage and numbers means so I don't understand the how much product to use of MAP or THDA.

Thanks in advance

Yep, the above C serum can feel tacky for 5 to 10 minutes until it absorbs..

If you want something more moisturizing (in just one step) try this;

Dissolve the vit C in water. When fully dissolved add the CV to that and stir well. Now add a few drops of Vit E oil to that and stir.

Using the CeraVe lets you off the hook for emulsifiers and preservatives. What you don't use up in 4 or 5 weeks, just toss and make a new batch (just to be on the safe side.)

"CeraVe Lotion or Cream" are great moisturisers, and totally compatible with any of my "C Serum" recipes.

Is there any other moisturisers especially from the UK that I could use?
