Hi Everyone,

I'm basically a lurker and a rabid collector of skincare products, but I just wanted to share my skincare secret with all of you.

Twice per year, I get VERY subtle juvederm injections in my face. I began with the nasolabial folds, which required one whole vial. The Dr. injected them fairly deep, so they didn't go away completely, but I looked 'refreshed.' The effect was instantaneous and took off about five years off my face. Then I moved in on the undereye area. Slowly but surely, the dreaded "trenches" have been plumped up, the skin there made more smooth, and those pesky little milia-like bumps due to deflated skin under the eyes are no longer. Finally, most recently, we took care of the beginnings of a slight malar depression (the diagonal lines from your eye sockets toward your jowles). I look continually refreshed, and I just love it. I still have nasiolabial lines, I still have a bit of character under my eyes, and I still have a tiny bit of the same malar depression in my face. In other words, I still look exactly like myself; none of my facial features have been altered. The effect has been subtle and natural and totally, 100% worth it.
I talked with my Dr. about our approach, which is very conservative, and he says it is a very good idea to "undercorrect" because when injected very deftly in small amounts, you are a lot less likely to have any adverse effects or look weird. The trauma to the facial structure is minimal. In fact, I went back to work immediately after every visit, and went out the very same night--never a bruise, never a complication.
I have used every expensive skincare on the planet, and nothing--I mean NOTHING--comes close to juvederm for taking years off the face in an instant. It's sad, and I'd rather not do it, but at 37 years old, I look better than I did five years ago!!!

Any other ladies on this forum who have had the same experience with conservative, frequent juvederm?

Juvederm and Restylane are basically the same and they both come in different consistencies depending on where you want to inject it. Around the eyes they generally use the lighter stuff because the skin is thin.

I also like a natural look and at my age having no lines would look weird and be a dead giveaway. When I have the nasolabial folds done, I only have him inject closer to my nose and stop about half an inch above the corners of my mouth. I want those lines there because I've noticed that much younger women have natural smile lines at the corners.

The good thing about these injectables is that they build up over time so you can go less frequently.
