Thanks DarkMoon! I teeter on the lines of needing some extra umph with anti-aging being over 40 and pregnant. I did some "googling" on Retinyl palmitate, the rule seems to be no more than 5,000iu of A a day. My prenatals have 1,700iu which leaves me wondering how much Retinal (etc) can be in skincare. I am eating a protein bar a day that has Retinyl palmitate directly in it along (but no info as to how much) with trying to eat a balanced meal. I do know that Retinyl palmitate is the weaker version of A and it's also in Bio-Oil which is used for stretch marks. So I guess I'll use products in moderation but at the same time, if it's in my foods, the concentration in a face cream can't be as high. I kind of wished I knew what the exact levels were. (Hope this makes some sense...) |

It makes sense but, it is difficult to get a truly great answer, between diet and skincare we don't know the percentage unless we are making it ourselves? My guess is the biggest issue is with Retin A and too much vitamin A in the diet, even if not pregnant it is a fat soluble vitamin and we store excess which can be toxic. I would discuss all with my MD or nutritionist and see what their input is. |

My husband told me to stop worrying. Now that I think about, my prenantals in England contained a higher amount of A. So I think I'm fine...
P.S. Sevani said all their skin care is safe during pregnancy, I'm still using their products along with trying Lifeline. |

I am sure all is just fine, and worrying is no good for you now anyway. I just had noticed a few members either pregnant or attempting to be so and thought this would be a good guide to start with. |
