Yes, behavioUr - I'm in Canada! Smile

I'm wondering if anyone can explain why pores can seem more or less visible from day to day. Does anyone else find that?

Mine are in my t-zone and there's the rare day I'm absolutely fascinated at how large they seem! I don't necessarily view this as a bad thing since I've found large pores beautiful on some women. I'd rather they be invisible, and most days they do seem fairly small (depending on my mood, lol!).

I use vit c, tretinoin, cp's, microfibre.. all fairly regularly, and can't see a correlation with use. I suspect its the "plumping" that comes with proper hydration via fruits & vegetables, but I haven't kept track of that.
Curious!

I don't know that they can actually change size day to day, unless you manually remove the sebum. Probably what's happening is things like how many hours of sleep you got the night before, whether you've showered recently or what kind of mood you're in affect your perception of their size.

Thats exactly what I am doing at the moment! What pores!? What spots? Hey is that even me im looking at?

I've never had huge trouble with noticable pores (a miracle!) but I do an ice facial every night for my acne and it makes my pores completely invisible...So I dont know if perhaps temperature has a part to play in it? Maybe heat makes them appear larger and the cold smaller? I'm clearly no scientist Embarassed

BUT! If anyone does have trouble with large pores that they dislike, I recommend Mally Evercolour Poreless Face Defender from QVC. It takes place of your face powder and is incredible stuff. Its pretty pricey but it lasts such a long time. It makes your skin feel like velvet. I wish I could use it but I cant put anything on my skin because of spots. Sad

Dehydration? Pores are essentially holes, as the skin plumps and shrinks your pores may appear larger or smaller. I noticed a huge difference when I made over my whole routine to focus on hydration, particularly losing sulphate surfactants and including a product containing lanolin. The body processes nutrients and water less well when you are tired so that can be one reason for day to day fluctuation.

Thanks everyone. I do think that its dehydration due to lack of sleep, since I remember noticing it in particular after late nights. And maybe that's why it didn't bother me too much - still in a slight party-mode, lol!

I didn't realize that - good to know!

Draculina: What is an ice facial? Sounds intriguing Smile

For me personally, the things that I've noticed that consistently make dramatic differences in my pore size are:

(1) Hydration, hydration, hydration!! Drinking more water + eating less salt = more tightly closed pores (noticeable within 1-2 weeks)

(2) Sweating while doing intense exercise...perhaps the sweating clears the pores??...no idea

(3) Light: a low dose of sunlight seems to shrink my pores. I know LED users report the same benefits from light exposure.

(4) Consistent use of OCM

(5) Hot temperatures seem to enlarge my pores (great for OCM), while they appear smaller in cold temperatures

I'm sure there are other things that affect pore size, but these are just the ones I notice.

HTH Smile

When did you all start noticing your pores?

I began noticing enlarged pores when I was in middle school.
