I can't believe that I'm in such a dither about this Embarassed
We're hosting a table at our community hospital fund raiser & it's THE social event of the year. The beautiful young women work out all year to fit in the perfect dress so that it's almost like a fashion show. I can't even say "been there, done that" because I certainly have never had the confidence & poise that these girls do. Besides being beauties, they are supreme fund raisers & our little town consistantly raises waaaay more than big cities around us. Smile
Anyway. I've had my pedicure/manicure & tomorrow I'm getting my hair & makeup done. This is a gamble since any other time I've gone this far, I've had just enough time to come home, wash it all out & go running to the gala as me. The makeup test run went well.
I want to do some beauty treatments at home.
You name it, I have it - I just don't want to overdo & end up with a rash or some pimply things Shock . Look at the JB spa line for masks. Have them - including the absolutely heavenly collagen one. Esther's Secret too. Exfoliants abound from the Radiance Renewal (JB) to CellularSkinRX Polishing Grains, Yonka Gomage, Darphin Peeling. I am all of a sudden lost in the middle. I haven't been this dressed up for a year (last gala) but I wasn't worried about anything to this degree then Confused
My skin is oily/combo & prone to rosacea. Neutral I have been drinking what seems like gallons of water all week (that's a start, right).
Oh another thing. I loved it & it seemed like a good idea at the time, Rolling Eyes , so I bought an outfit with a loose/snug fit - black with all over fuschia beaded pattern & a laser cut neckline. It's off the shoulder. Hence the prob. I can't wear a strapless because it ends up waist level. You young'uns better work out or your day will come Very Happy . The 3/4 ones that go to the waist aren't much better - a lot of pulling still goes on. I think that I can work this out but is there an emergency method to get the "dents" out of my shoulders. (The kind that bra straps can leave over the years.) I think I've lost my head.
Thank you thank you for any help that you might have - if it works out maybe, MAYBE, I'll put in a picture. Cool

Ruth.

Have you tried those ones that is a cup you tape on? You can usually get them in drug stores, and department stores. Strapless bras always fall down on me too so I use the tape thingys. Believe me, my day has come, there's no going without for me too!

I'd probably stick with an exfoliant to help the makeup go on better. If you usually use a mask when you exfoliate go for it, but use a soothing gentle one. If you don't usually, don't do it..you may stress your skin out too much!

And don't forget to take your mascara to the makeup place with you or else they use one that's been used on everyone else too! :-&

I wish I was at risk of "having my day come" but mine are too small to be bothered by gravity Embarassed Laughing

Ruth - have you got any Valmont Renewing Pack or Guerlain Issima Midnight Sercet? Those would be good to use just before putting your makeup on. In terms of other stuff I would personally gently exfoliate the night before and put Decleor Essential Balm on overnight and drink some more water Smile But, as lianne pointed out, you shouldn't do anything drastic that your skin is not used to.

I hope you have a wonderful time - please post a photo Smile

Mabsy,

I thought Valmont Renewing Pack is a mask that you need to wash it off after a certain period of time. Do you use it as a moisturizer too?

Rose - I usually use it as a mask but sometimes I sleep with it on instead of moisturiser. I wouldn't use it in the same way as Midnight Secret though - I'd apply it, wait 20 minutes or so, then wash off and to the usual moisturise + makeup.
