Was wondering if any of you have better recall or information than I do.

One of our previous posters used the Matri-Stem product in her post rolling serum...and I am not sure why?

I assume it supports collagen synethesis, although it only appears to be available via script (hasn't stopped us before, lol).

Thanks, the link again is:

I found Josee posted on

https://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=34315&postdays=0&postorder=asc&&start=0

Josee wrote:
I haven't started dermarolling yet but this is what I will do right after rolling, based on the protocol by Dr. Fernandes et al published in : Plast.Reconstr. Surg. 121: 1421, 2008

- Wash the face thoroughly with cold saline solution
- Apply gauze soaked in cold saline to absorbe any blood and ooze.

- After oozing stops, apply Acell, Retinyl palmitate (Vitamin A) and Ascorbic tetraisopalmitate (vitamin C) + Vitamin E, in a solution made of jojoba oil, squalene, and macadamia nut oil. I chose this solution because its close to human sebum composition.

The reason I'm not using Ascorbic acid for Vitamin C is because there have been some cases reported of tissue necrosis after its use. And the reason I'm not using Tretinoin (RetinA) for Vitamin A is because it's too much of an irritant and I want to keep my inflammation controlled (I don't want to end up getting postinflammatory hyperpigmentation, or scar collagen) and I am somewhat worried about systemic absorption of tretinoin.

- One hour (or more) after that, I will put a very diluted copper peptide serum. I still don't know the exact concentration I will use because I haven't asked yet.

Um...did not see her explanation of the product, hoping others here know more about that ingredient.

I found that by searching for the product and EDS forum and did not see a reason or explanation either?

Sorry!

What I've learned so far is that this is an extracellular matrix powder (or sheets) used to accelerate and regenerate new skin....

still researching, may reach out to Josee, surely the Dr. had a reason for using it.

I may be dead wrong but that sounds like something that would be used for burns/skin grafts in a medical setting? hmm

I would love to have Josee weigh in!
