^ its true, they were soooo generous with their knowledge! I used to read back then, but not post. I think they really helped set the tone and inspire everyone here to share without hesitation. I'd never come across anything like it before eds.
I had a bout with very dry lips in the fall due to dehydration & cold weather, I guess, and it took forever to sort out. I tried all the usual suspects, including medicated balms and coconut oil. someone on here suggested zinc ointment, and it was the only thing that did the trick. It took a few days but my lips felt really plump and luxurious afterwards.

California baby Calendula ointment does the trick for me |
I make my own with a DIY petroleum jelly and I always throw in Calendula extract and Chamomile extract or oil since they are so soothing! |
I should have made that un-petroleum jelly, I make a large amount store and add goodies to 1-2 oz. jars as needed, you can warm any amount you need add more beeswax for a stiffer mix.
Basic recipe:
8 oz. Oil (of choice)
2 oz. Beeswax
Yield 10oz.
Warm the oil in a double boiler or Bain Marie (Water Bath) gradually
Add beeswax stirring constantly, pour into a heat proof jar (I use mason jars).
Keep stirring until it starts to get stiff and allow to cool. |
