Is there a retinol product(s) that is generally considered the best to use?

Thanks, BFG

A few years back, my derm had recommended Avene Retrinal to me. I was looking for something for around the eyes. It's not retinol, but retinaldehyde.

This thread, while a few years old, has some info and recommends a few other products. I always hear good things about Skinceuticals retinol.

Do you mean a non-rx Retinol product BFG? I REALLY liked the Olay pro-x deep wrinkle treatment. It was really soothing and gentle and contains Peptides and Niacinimide as well as Retinol. And it's packaged properly to protect the Retinol. It seemed expensive at 60 dollars but it lasted months! I still have half a tube. And it worked really well. I think you can get it cheap on ebay though. It's a high-rated one by Paula Begoun on "beautypedia" if you care about that sort of thing. It's listed as one of the best Retinol products on there. You could also look at the rest of the top rated Retinol products on there too. Smile If you meant a prescription Retinol product though then sorry! Embarassed

NCN does two strengths retinol 1% and 2%. I am using 1% just now seems to be working ok, I am hoping eventually to build up to retina a but retinol is working for me at the moment, especially if I am rolling seriously now .

Check out this site. It lists them in order of weak to strong. You may find it helpful in choosing a product.

LOL. GirlieGirl

I found one that has a listing as well but not by percentage, it lists various types by strength.

According to this list, Tazarotene (synthetic retinoid) is stronger than Tretinoin (retinoic acid), but I tolerate the former much better than the latter!

I want to try making one myself! Smile Someone told me they don't get broken capillaries from "Retinyl Palmitate". I wonder if that form is easy to work with and effective?
