I'm wondering what you all think about Peptides in a face cream that is in jar packaging. The peptide in question is "Palmitoyl Pentapeptide 4" if it matters. I've read that Peptides are very fragile and shouldn't be in jar packaging or else they're rendered ineffective. Do you think that's true or not? Even if the product has lots of preservatives, would the peptide still not be effective in jar packaging? Thanks if anyone can help me with this!

Generally speaking, any actives packaged in jars are not protected from air exposure so they degrade quickly. Preservatives don't protect the actives from degrading. I personally will not buy treatments that are in jars.

not to mention your fingers are in it, even if they come with those cute little spatula's that I lose within the first 5 minutes, then look around and see my dog chewing on something Confused

LOL. I have a dog. I know what that's like! GirlieGirl, I don't know what to think. Some say the preservatives protect you and the ingredients etc. So many darn face creams I gravitate towards with ingredients that my skin likes just happen to be in jar packaging! The search continues lol!

I really try to either use Airless pump containers for my DIY or purchase products packaged in them!

Yes, I definitely want airless pumps for DIY. Where do you prefer to purchase yours DM? I've only seen some on Bulkactives.

As for products in airless pumps, sigh! The only face cream in airless packaging style that looks like one my skin might agree with is Nia24 SSC! Confused

Preservatives protect the product from growing mold etc but don't keep the sensitive ingredients stable.

Lotion crafter also sells airless pumps, they are opaque (which I think is better).

Thank you GirlieGirl! Yes opaque is better to protect ingredients from light. But I haven't been able to find any. I think I might go with those ones Very Happy

Easy fix wrap a glossy stick on label around the bottle (added bonus you can write on) or cut an old glove finger and slip it in! Smile

Great idea also DM Smile That reminds me, I suppose if I'll be making several DIY "potions" I'd better label them or I won't know what they are. Shock

Necessity is the mother of invention, mine when I first purchased only came in clear! It helps to know which serum is which! Very Happy
