Hi All!
I'm starting to use a vit c serum w/ b5 gel (morning) & Yonka Creme 15 w/ Juvenil (at night) to control breakouts, thanks to rec's on this board . Now I'm looking for a good moisturizer to use during the day that already has an SPF in it. My skin is dehydrated/acne prone, and I don't want my skin to dry out, especially with using vit c/b5. Anyone out there tried any moisturizers w/ SPF that are just as hydrating as other moisturizers? I was looking at Dermalogics' sheer moisture spf 15, but again, I'm worried about hydration.... am i destined for dry skin if i don't spend the money on 2 seperate products???? please help! |

I don't use a moisturizer with an spf in it...but I do have to say I like skinceuticals daily moisture. To use it along with the B5 gel you shouldn't dry out.. I use mineral makeup which has a built in spf...but do use a spf cream if I'm spending time outdoors.
I didn't really answer the question here did I?
Ok, I don't think you'll get dry skin if you only buy 1 product. Just pick a moisturizer with spf that's for normal/combo skin |

Thanks for the advice! I usually use Glominerals liquid foundation which has an SPF in it (I LOVE that stuff!) but I'm taking some time off from make-up all together until my skin becomes more under control (I hope ) Which is why I'm on a search for a moisturizer w/ an SPF. When I went to the drugstore, almost all the lotions had an SPF in them, and it got me wondering, why don't the more expensive lotions (which I usually use) have SPF's in them? Does it really detract from the qualities of the moisturizer? Are they not as good for the skin? It's confusing to me
Now I'm starting to eye the Murad Pomegranate Moisturizer w/ SPF.... don't know if I should get that or the Dermalogica sheer moisture, they sound about the same... |

I think there's a lot that don't put spf in because it'll make the formula chemically instead of natural and therefore less hypo-allergenic. Maybe? I'm not sure.
I bet someone will be able to recommend a good one to try. It's not a product that I use so I'd hate to suggest the wrong one. I'm sure Mabsy and a few others will have some good recommendations!
What type/brand of moisturizer are you using now? |

Also, make sure what ingredients are in the SPF to know you're actually getting protection. Most drugstore products have fillers that really don't help the skin. Titanium dioxide or zinc oxide are the two best ingredients for sun protection... |

I know that with some tan accellerators they dont put SPFs in them cause everyone likes a different level of protection and people who like low wouldnt want the same as people who want high, and they couldnt have lots of different types. Maybe moisturisers are the same.
If you are acne prone, I thought you would have oily skin. Are you just a young pup, full of life and zest, , if so your hormones may be disturbing you skin balance. I would have thought the first thing you should do is to try and balance the skin and find a really good skin wash, or cleanse and tone if you prefer, and stabalise your breakouts. Then work up from there, if your young, get a good moisturiser for hydration, if your older and need anti aging, then that will influence your buy.
Why not get yourself a mask or nice treatment of exfoliator thats gentle and ask EDS for some different samples of moisturiser so you can make your mind up without committing to the full size. |

I wear foundation with an SPF 20 - and only use Cellex C SPF 30 if, for some reason I'm not wearing foundation....In that case, I put on my SPF then rub a couple of drops of the B5 in my hands and then lightly press the palms of my hands over my face....that does the trick for me, it keeps me from feeling "ripped off" by my SPF moisturizer and I get the protection I need..
Good Luck!

Thanks for the replies everyone!
Cindi - I'm 24 so I'm not sure I'd be considered a young pup, but thank you very much
I was definately eyeing the dermalogica exfoliaters, so I think I'll go for the gentle cream exfoliater and ask for some samples of moisturizer spf's to find my fave I'm sure I can find one that's hydrating as well as protecting! |

Ive had alot of Dermalogica samples lately, the sample fairies are the best.
And to any one over 30 you are indeed a young pup! Enjoy it
The Dermalogica Microfoliant is cool, Ive used a sample but Ive odered Dr Haschka's cleansing cream as it seem the fave on here. |

ktsweets - Do you have dry skin or are you worried about getting dry skin after starting the vit C? If your skin is not very dry then assuming you're using the B5 gel then the Sheer Tint moisture should be enough for you. |

Hi,
I like to use a moisturiser (usually Kinerase) then a separate SPF on top, I love Total Block Clear by Fallene (SPF 65!!) but then I'm pasty pale and prone to freckles (am a redhead)and burn even on an overcast day so I am a SPF freak!!! But this is the only block that doesn't sting my eyes or make me break out or go shiny. I haven't found an all in one product that does the job quite so well though I have just bought a Cellex-C sun savvy kit which has a moisturiser with SPF so may try that. |

Dermalogics' sheer moisture spf 15 was not enough for my dry skin .
I tried also the B5 gel after the Vit C but got my skin break out ..... The only cream which is working for me after the Vit C is declor angelique oli and Nutri dèlice ultra nourishing cream over that. |
