I have dry face so I like *slip* in my moisturizers like Chanel Vitalumiere in liquid or cream, even Cover Girl tru-blend has a great slip (silicone) but that might break you out? Cream foundations have more moisturizing properties in them. Wink

Another option is to use a foundation primer! Smashbox has one, or Ramy (which I love! smells like a light cucumber)

Why not try one of the mineral powders like Bare Escentuals or Jane Iredale. They get raved about often. Im using BE but its early days, my skills in application are pants. Sad

Im not sure, they are supposed to be very theraputic for your skin. If you search some threads, there is so much talk about them or click into their shop on EDS and have a good review.

I use Jane Iredale Liquid minerals. It's not moisturizing but doesn't cause breakouts or dryness. I really like it (I'm sensitive, combination/ance). Only problem this it is it can grab at dry spots.

I thought I would post an update as far this topic. So here goes:

I got the Dermalogica Sheer Moisture Light Tint, and unfortunately it didnt give me enough coverage, not even a healthy glow.
My skin is kind of naturally red on my cheeks and it especially stands out when I put an undereye concealer.

I also tried the JI powder, it gave nice coverage but was a little too drying .

I dont mean to sound too picky Embarassed
Once again, its hard to find those perfect products what work for ones individual skin needs.

I was hoping that maybe Bobbi Brown Moisturizing Foundation would work better for me. Has anyone tried it?

Thankies!

Lianne,

Whenever I put the JI over any moisturizer it still somehow makes my skin dry and kind of tight.

Aga, maybe your moisturiser is the problem, its not rich enough for your parched skin. Have you tried hydrating masks, Dermalogica have a noce one and they even have a Hydrating Booster Serum.

I saw dermalogica has got also TREATMENT FOUNDATION, maybe that could be a good choice?

I am still looking for that great moisturizer out there lol

Aga, the Decleor moisturiser you mentioned is anti aging and really I cant see it being of any benefit to you at 23, you need a moisturiser more specific to help the sun damage if nothing else. Decleor have some moisturisers for VERY dry skin, http://www.essentialdayspa.com/decleor-nutri-delice-deli-p_1196.htm http://www.essentialdayspa.com/new-decleor-nutri-delice-p_3397.htm These would be more suited to you than anti aging, and the second one is a new product, fancy being an EDS guinea pig Wink

Aga...same with me.

I would advise you to go to a dermatologist or esthetician for a customized program..

I just been to the derm and they gave me some prescripsions for acne on my chin..

Are there are any other moisturizers I should look into other than the Decleor ones?

Aga, I think that TruBlend is really nice, too. But I do use a fairly heavy moisturizer under my make-up. In winter, the CSRx BioLipid cream and during the summer I let my Coppertone Faces spf 30 act as my moisturizer. I don't have dry skin except when it is very cold. However, I prefer a dewy look to my make-up (in my forties) so I'd love to see what rec's you get...I actually have been putting Banana Boat Active Sport under my foundation when I use it because it has a bit of a "glow" to it....

Sorry that you are finding it hard and confusing finding the right products for you. I would suggest that you find a good salon in your area (ask around). An experienced esthetician can recommend the right products suited for your skin. I hate to see you keep spending money and not find the product right for you. There are some excellent salons that will actually give you samples to try and apply makeup on your skin. In the long run you will actually save money.

Surely the derm. you saw can recommend a moisturizer and/or a good esthetician in your area.

Have you tried mixing some of the JI powder with a richer moisturiser to make your own foundation? That might be a good option to try given that you already have the JI. Also, I *always* spritz my face with JI D2O (or Jurlique rosewater spray) after applying JI pressed base. This counteracts any dry feeling and sets the makeup.
