Is that a good idea?
Will the oil and gel diminish the white cast?
Thank You. |

If you use micronised zinc oxide and not more than about 20% you shouldn't have a white cast. If you want more protection you would probably be best adding titanium dioxide. If you are going to mix an oil based and a water based substance you will need to use an emulsifier and perhaps a preservative. Have you thought about adapting a tried-and-tested DIY recipe? |

I make my own SS. I add about 15 grams of zinc to 60ml of cream. It was a little white so I hadded some HA serum and that took care of it. There are some DIY recipes for zinc ss. Some of them are just adding zinc oxide to a base cream/lotion. Your base lotion can be something like cetaphil or whatever. I make my own. I use the french process zinc powder. Its very fine particles like flour. Whatever you use be careful not to breath it in. Wear a mask when mixing. |
