I know this has been hashed out, back and forth, in numerous threads a while back, but what is the current consensus on the best needle length for frequent use to enhance product penetration when dermarolling and/or needling? I was thinking .2mm or .5mm??
Also, for product penetration, do you prefer a roller or a stamp?
Thanks, all! |

.2 or .3 is best for product penetration. |

I agree with Bethany. I think now people are using the .5mm Once weekly to once a month. |

Thanks, Bethany. What size needle do you use for the CIT/PCI deep roll, and how often do you deep roll? |

I think many are going with 1mm for deep rolls. More recently, I have even heard .5mm can induce collagen, but I would go with 1mm to be safe. |

I am prepping for a "medical roll" and plan on using a 1mm every 6 weeks or so. If you have not read "The Concise Guide to Dermal Needling" I definitely recommend it BEFORE starting. I have been a big follower of the clinical studies and protocols for years now, and this is a nice summary of what you should (and should NOT) be doing.

I've just ordered the Medic8 Serum which Dr Setterfield had a hand in developing - along with a 0.2mm roller. Although I've been using a 1mm and 0.5mm roller for ages, I've been slow to use a small needle roller for penetration. I intend on using the 0.2mm roller and Medic8 daily. |

I do so much to my skin that it's hard to know what's doing what! But in terms of stimulating collagen and elastin, dermarolling makes complete sense to me - so I'll keep on keeping on. |

Which serum from Medik8 are you going to be using, Keliu? I think I found the correct site and it looks like they have several different products. Definitely looking forward to your review on this combo! |

Keliu may have read an article from Vogue Australia which links Dr. Setterfield to a Medik8 product. Here's the information I found:
Vogue Australia Non-Surgical Guide
"2012 has been one of the most innovative years for non-surgical cosmetic enhancement."
Lastly, we looked at the Medik8 Growth Factor Youth Activating Serum, the baby of a team of doctors and scientists including Lance Setterfield, a world leader in the study of growth factors. Growth factors are biological messengers that have the ability to start chain reactions within our cells, therefore controlling every aspect of the cell's life and death. They are particularly important in skin cells, as they greatly affect the skin's regeneration ability. The Medik8 Growth Factor serum uses the purest form of epidermal growth factor, which is plant derived yet is bio-identical. Using plant growth factor allows for a much purer form that also binds more effectively to human skin cells.

If that's the correct product and article, here's the relevant information on the product:
http://www.medik8.com/en/face/growth_factor.html
Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Extract, Panthenol, Hyaluronic Acid, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, sh-Oligopeptide-1, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Citric Acid, Sodium Citrate, Lecithin, Blue 1 (CI 42090), Yellow 5 (CI 19140) |

Yes, that's the one Lacy - and I did read about it in Vogue.
I find it interesting that Dr. Setterfield is working with plant growth factors but that both DrJ and Dragon feel that they are bogus. So, you know me, I just had to be difficult and give it a try! But, then, maybe I've got it all mixed up and there is a difference between plant stem cells and plant growth factors - not sure about that. |
