What is the pH of the soap and the pH of the peels you are using? |

When I had glycolic peels done in an office, they were never neutralized, always rinsed with water. I don't neutralize at home either. It is a good idea to have some ready when you're trying a higher strength, in case you want to stop it early. There are recipes to make your own, I believe 1 tablespoon of baking powder in a cup of water. Probably best made fresh. |

I wouldn't say you need to neutralise at those pHs. Just be aware lactic acid can form a reservoir in the skin which can be reactivated later with water, so allow for the fact you might get a little extra zap next time you wash your face! |

I don't. I use the 60% Lactic Acid from Makeupartistschoice and the instructions say to just wash the acid off with the green tea soap and apply the toner which both used to be supplied with the product - not sure whether they are any more though. |
