Before you needle your scars, you should spend about three weeks loading your skin with retinyl palmitate and tetra C (see Environ website) to get the best results from needling, so you'd be better off waiting for the correct needles to be restocked at owndoc and while you're waiting, use this time to pretreat your skin with those actives. |

I would suggest using a dermastamp instead. |

Honestly, I would almost think sewing needles from a craft store or Walmart would work better. I believe dermarolling needles are .25mm or less, so I would not use anything thicker than that. I agree with the needing vit a and c before hand, and doing plenty of reading. |

I have the same problem.
Bought a pack with 5 needles from the owndoc site and started the single needling protocol for my stretchmarks all over my hips
I was going along with the whole program/protocol smoothly.
It sounds weird, but i could notice as time went by the stretchmarks seems to ''adapted themselves'' to the very fixed program i followed.
(i also did some other thingies that matched with the single needling. I did a very extensive research for this. It took me 9 months. I searched for all the things out there, things to complement and combinate with percutaneous collagen induction (PCI) and made a balanced and very strict program)
I was so happy and really started to see the first TINY improvements. (my stretchmarks are severe)
But then the whole promising progress i was finally making was blown away and interrupted:( ...
When my fifth single needle became dull (i can't do very long with the needles, because my skin is very thick and i have a lot of stretchmark)
i wanted to order some new ones as soon as possible.
Guess what, the owndoc lady hasn't got them anymore... It's so frustrating. =(
I have a box with 100 30G diabetic needles somewhere and i'm REALLY tempted to grab some out of it and sticking it into my stretchmarks right now. Okay... That sounds weird but i'm deadly serious.
I know the owndoc lady keeps telling us that you can only use her very ''special'' single needle and you can't use any other due to all different reasons.
I know it's mean to say but isn't this just a fiction so that she can makes money... |

I'm sorry to hear that Yams. It is awesome that you are seeing progress though. Have you tried contacting Sarah from owndoc and asking what she suggests? Have you considered a derma stamp or a 3 line roller? Owndoc now even sells one line rollers. I do not think you should glide the needles you have. The single needles from owndoc are 25mm thick, and I do not know the risks of thicker needles. |

Yams, I have used the diabetic needles, 31G and they work fine and I prefer these to the ones I got from owndoc. I was trying to break a scar tissue and I always feared that the owndoc needles would break if I maneuver the needles while poking em but 31G needles are very sturdy and they ll bend and just break if anything.... however pls don't blame me if you mess yourself up!!
Also, kmrmv8, sewing needles is a NO No.. I used em once and they gave me hyper pigmented poke marks which took months to disappear, they are very thick and blunt as compared to the diabetic needles as they are not meant to go in the skin.... |

I think a diabetic needle is much more reliable for me, I did use one in the past and it worked well for me! |

Wow, people sure are suspicious of vendors lately! Holy crap! How much do profit do you think they're making off a few single needles? As I recall, mine were dirt cheap and WELL worth all the information, experience & advice I was given along with the purchase of the products.
I think you should be more suspicious of the vendors who sell at vastly inflated prices and can't, or don't bother answering questions about them. sheesh. |

When you say diabete needles are you talking about lancets? Because they are very cheap on Ebay and I would buy that! |

Funny this should come up today. I have been using 31 g insulin syringes for needling because I like a new sterile sharp for every scar every time. When I was cleaning today I found a bunch of extra fine lancets given to me by my plastic surgeon and put them aside for future needling. This is the first time I have done it, how long before I should start to see results. These are very old white plastic surgery scars behind my ear.
Thanx. |
