This is from Dr. Denese's facebook page

Sorry for the typos. My phone autocorrect is a problem
Our regular incandescent light bulbs do not emit UVA rays so they do not promote wrinkles. The new energy saving ones do promote wrinkles . It is a high price to pay. If you put glass over it in a lamp or a lamp shade that will cut down on UVA. We all try to go green but we did not bargain for more wrinkles. Manufacturers should be aware of this and outfit the bulbs with an additional glass layer

That was one of the reason I switched to LED bulbs when they started to suspect about fluorescent lamps emitting UVA/UVC (even though LEDs are "weaker" and not every manufactured discloses the color temperature). But as I understand, it's the proximity to the lamp and imperfect/damaged internal coatings that give fluorescent lamps the bad reputation.

Its the proximity to the CFL bulb. Unless you hold it up to your face like an LED (another bad idea) its benefits to the environment outweigh any alleged hazards. Google it and up pop several studies about this.

Yes, that is exactly what I read, as well. It does say that the CFL bulb would be best behind a glass enclosure. That must add some protection.
