Hi,
I'm looking for a good physical sunscreen that I can use for everyday use. I know many recommend the Burnout brand of sunscreen, which I have tried and like. I tried the kid's version and I mainly use it for my face.
However, burnout does still leave a slight white cast on my face. I'm looking for a sunscreen that I can use when I have less sun exposure, something I can use everyday. I will probably stick with the burnout during the summer and when I am out in the sun longer.
I know two of the recommendations are Devita and EltaMD, but Devita does not seem to offer enough protection and EltaMD is expensive when it comes to dollars per oz. Anyone know of a sunscreen that is either less dollars per oz, or less whitening than Burnout?
Thanks |

Devita body block fits the bill, but I'd stick to burnout on the face (devita is irritating in the eye area and I trust burnout more).
In terms of protection, if you want something for your body when water resistance is not an issue (Devita has none) Devita is basically perfect. Per ounce it's definitely cheaper than burnout. Honestly if there's any sunscreen that has a better value than devita and burnout I'm not aware of it. [to be fair, I did stop looking a while ago...]
In terms of white cast, that's where the Elta comes in, at least for me. I basically use it as a make up so I use very little of it. In general, I recomment mixing burnout (or whatever physical sunscreen of your choice) with a tiny bit of foundation or concealer that matches your skin or is slightly darker. So it'll be kind of a tinted misturizer effect. [I do this with elta sometimes]

You should definitely look into Pevonia Hydrating Sunsreen. You get 5oz for 38 bucks via SkinMedix which is a nice buy comparing to purchasing BurnOut.
It is extremely smooth and it smells fruity. It is not whitening. I don't see a lot of people talking about this prouct but it sure is wonderful. I tried Devita (too watery) and Burnout (too drying). I find Pevonia to be just right for my skin. Plus, it is easy to wash off at days end and full of skin goodies. |
