Hi, I have started taking gelatin orally twice a day to improve my skin (hopefully give a lift, ease wrinkles) and also for some bad joints.

Has anyone here had experience with gelatin? Anyways, I will maybe give an update when I see changes. Thanks

superdogg - I use "NeoCell from iherb.com. It is collagen types I and III (841 reviews for 4.5 stars) It is also 2012 Best of Natural Beauty Winner for Better Nutrition Magazine. There is fish based collagen, bovine based collagen but Porcine based is closest to human collagen. Elavonne.com has a collagen product which shows an endorsement from Oprah.

Don't vitamin and fish oil capsules have gelatin in them?

Thanks, Stovetop! I just ordered the Neocells product. The reviews sold me. Seems like it works quickly for people, so I'll post a review here later. Love EDS!

I have been told that gelatin is a very low quality protein.

It's easy to get your protein from food sources, even if you're a vegetarian, but vitamins are important too. I read that 5 vitamins are essential for healthy, pretty skin - A, B, C, E, and K.

A healthful way to get a shot of vitamin C is to drink water with lemon instead of tea or sodas when you go to restaurants.

I also take NeoCell Super Collagen! Its hydrolized so it absorbs better than gelatin. If you want to maximize the effect, try with Neocell hyaluronic acid capsules. Really fills out the little wrinkles and moisturizes.
