I usually get information/reviews on beauty products from forums because I find it hard to trust beauty product review sites and YouTube. Another thing I like about forums is that you can see every forum member's post count and join date.
This makes it harder for a spammers; other members will know it's a spammer by the person's low post count and (usually recent) join date.
However, something that upsets me is that, in many forums, users will start a challenge or try a new product. For example, they may start a Jean Wu stretch mark removal challenge or a hair product challenge. Then, they say that they will keep us posted on their results. And never do.
That is so frustrating. |

I find that frustrating as well. If you are going to test a product, especially with intentions of providing before and after pictures, maybe it would be a good idea to wait until you completed the specific program before posting the results. It gets people's hopes up that they will come back with review/pictures and then they never do. |

Me, too. The number of times I keep going back to see whether the promised parts 2 or even 3 materialise - and they often never do. Whilst it's good to see a review of the application technique, I want to know the actual updated results!
Which reminds me that I mustn't forget to update my own Phenomenal self-tan review in a few weeks' time, once I've finished my latest experiment with it! |

Sometimes, what I do is PM those members and ask them to update us on their results. |
