How do you know whether a toner is actually exfoliating your skin? Can you feel it? |

I know Im not the user you were asking but just thought Id add my 2 cents
Paula has her own opinions and some not everyone agrees with. If the product works for you and Paula trashes it then dont stop using it just because she doesnt like it.
If you like using toner and have for years already, especially with a cotton pad, then you would probably like this product as it gets rid of excess cleanser etc like a toner should do. |

Quick question: for those who use a glycolic acid toner, how do you know that it's actually working? Does your skin tingle a little bit when you use it?
Because when I used to use salicylic acid toners (back when I had acne), it almost always tingled. Of course, that could have also been because those toners had menthol and camphor. |

I use Obagi toner (for combination skin) and I feel nothing, since this toner is very mild (in my point of view). I use toner to pH balance the skin after cleaning my face with foaming cleanser.
What I do is pour some toner on the cotton ball, and wipe on my face. If the cotton balls change color with some "dirt", it means that you have exfoliated. This is one way to remove the flakiness of the skin (if you are peeling). This is also after the fact that I clean my face with foaming cleanser prior to the toner.
I've tried salicylic and glocolic acid toners and yes they do feel tingly a little bit which means for what purpose you are using, it is WORKING. If you don't feel anything, it means it is NOT WORKING at all on your skin. Fair enough explanation?

But, I remember Firefox posting that after 12 weeks of using glycolics its basically done all of its work that it can so I am definitely going to start using it in more strict cycles.
Always remember to use SPF when using AHA's as well! |
Does anybody know more about these cycles?
If Glycolic is best used cyclically, how often do the Windows come around? |
